| Batchko, Joseph E., age 78, a 30 year resident of West Knoxville, and formerly of Cleveland, OH, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at the Farragut Health Care Center. He was born September 10, 1923, to parents John and Johanna Batchko of Cleveland, OH. Joseph was a supervisor for 40 years with Eaton Corporation in Cleveland, OH, Detroit, MI, and Lenoir City, TN where he retired in 1985. He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Farragut, TN, and also, a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He signed a professional baseball contract with the Cleveland Indians and enjoyed his greatest accomplishment as a seventeen year old pitcher against the Detroit Tigers. Injuries later halted his baseball career. Joseph also enjoyed, gardening, music, and outdoor sports. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother John Batchko. Joseph was a loving husband to his wife, Margaret for fifty-two years and a caring father to both his daughter Barbara Batchko of Nashville, TN and son, Mark Batchko, with the New York Yankees Organization, and his wife Peggy, of Arlington, TX. He was especially proud of his grandson, Brock Batchko of Arlington, TX. Other survivors include: Sister, Betty Boben and husband, Edward. | Kingsbury, Dora Belle Johnson age 82, of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2002. Dora was a Salvation Army Officer from 1942 - 1949. She remained an active soldier in the Knoxville Corps receiving her 60 year service bar in 1995. She taught the leadership training program for young people for over 30 years resulting in numerous young people committing themselves to life service as Salvation Army officers. Dora taught the Women's Bible class for numerous years. | John Robert Brooks, 71, a retired businessman, died of cancer July 6 at Wood Village in Sweetwater,
Tennessee. A former resident of Grosse Ile, Michigan, Mr. Brooks was living in Vonore, Tennessee for the last two years of his life. Mr. Brooks was born
in Clarksburg, WV. He served for four years in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War, with most of that time spent in England. While there, Mr. Brooks met
his future bride, Geri O’Leary. Upon returning to the United States, he attended Fairmont State College in Fairmont, WV and received his B.S. degree in
accounting and business. After graduation from college Mr. Brooks began his business career with the Union Carbide Corporation in Indianapolis, IN. He
left there in 1967 to become Vice President and Comptroller of Monroe Scrap Material in Monroe, MI. Later, he became the Vice President and Chief Operating
Officer of Wyandotte Steel in Wyandotte, MI. Subsequently Mr. Brooks became the owner and President of Dix Scrap Material in Detroit, MI where he worked
until his retirement in 1999. He was past President of the Wyandotte Rotary Club, past President of the Grosse Ile Athletic Booster Club, Committee Chair
at the Grosse Ile Golf and Country Club and was active with Boy Scout Troop 1262 in Grosse Ile, MI. Mr. Brooks was an avid and lifelong outdoorsman. He
was proud of his Life Endowment Membership in the National Rifle Association and was active with the Monroe Gun Club, the Michigan Rifle and Pistol Association,
the Wayne County Sportsman Association, and was instrumental in the start of silhouette rifle shooting while living in Michigan. He enjoyed hunting small and
big game and won numerous skeet and trap shooting awards. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic parish in Lenoir City, TN. Survivors
include his wife of 47 years, Gertrude Mary Brooks of Vonore, TN; four children, John Michael Brooks of Huntingtown, MD, Philip Edward Brooks of Carlsbad, CA,
Ian Robert Brooks of Lake Berrington, IL, and Monica Marie Brooks of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

| Young, Carl Robert "Bob" age 77 of Knoxville, passed away at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, July 9th, following a brief illness. Marcella was a member of the St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City, TN and a former member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Bay City, MI, where she was very active in the women's club at the church. She was retired from Bay Medical Center in Bay City, MI. Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Forsyth. | Gregory, Larry Richard, age 58 of Farragut, TN, died Saturday morning July 20, 2002 at his home following a sudden illness. Larry was born in Nashville, TN on April 6, 1944. He graduated from MTSU University in 1968, and was a charter member of Sigma Chi MTSU Chapter. He served in the Army as a lieutenant from 1968 - 1970. Larry came to the Knoxville area in 1971 where he began his career at Bull Run Oil Company. Later he served as Vice President of Church Petroleum. For several years Larry worked in the hydraulic business before returning to the oil business. Larry was president of Central Florida Oil for four years and returned to serve as president of Harriman Oil and president of East Tennessee Transport Co. He was a member of St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church. | Alan P. Graves, Sr. passed away in Knoxville, TN on July 28th at the age of 82. He had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease. He was born June 12, 1920 in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Alan H. and Ruth P. Graves. He attended Dubuque public schools and then went on to graduate with a B.S. in economics from the University of Chicago in 1942. In World War II, he served as an army personnel officer at Camp Beale, CA and attained the rank of Captain. Following the war, he began working at Priebe & Sons Poultry in Iowa City, Iowa. He was transferred to Concord, NC in 1950 to establish a poultry processing operation there. In 1961, he began work as a trust officer at Cabarrus Bank & Trust. He rose to the position of Senior VP & Trust Officer at Northwestern Bank, which acquired Cabarrus Bank & Trust. He became a member of the Cannon Foundation in 1977 and served as secretary of the Cannon Charitable Trust following his retirement from the bank in 1985. He was an Eagle Scout and a life-long Rotarian with over 51 years of perfect attendance. He was a Paul Harris Fellow. His wife, the former Catherine Kellam, died in 1996. Survivors include a daughter, Judith O'Leary and husband, Louis of Philadelphia, PA; a son Alan P. (Pete) Graves, Jr. and wife, Carolyn, of Knoxville, TN, a grandson Alan P. Graves III, 5 step-grandchildren, Tom and Rodney Floyd, and Karin, Daniel and David O'Leary, three step-great grandchildren; and a brother, Dr. John P. Wanda of Tellico Village; grandchildren, Richard Tilton Taylor and his wife, Julie of Northbrook, IL, Peggy Smith and her husband, Frank; great grandchildren:
Jason, Katie and Kelly Smith all of Raleigh, N.C.; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, August 3,
followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Gooden officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery.
