Gibbs, William D. (Bill) - age 78 of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2005, at Park West Medical Center.  He graduated form Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY.  Bill was a veteran of W. W. II serving in the U. S. Army in the Panama Canal Zone.  He retired from Oak Ridge Associated University, Medical Division, with 30 years service.  Bill was a member of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Health Physics Society. Cranfill, Vivian Esther Jacobson - age 67 of the Tellico Village Community, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2005, at her home. Vivian was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who often dedicated herself to serving others. Vivian was born in Chicago, Ill in 1937 and was a graduate of Hirsch High School, Class of 1955. She was Den Mother for two lucky groups of Cub Scouts, was Parent Teacher Association President, Church leader and volunteer, and Construction Coordinator for handicapped access to her church in Northbrook, Illinois.  In recent years, Vivian especially enjoyed her association with the Red Hat Society and her position as secretary and Co-Program Chair-person in the Tellico Village Chapter of the American Wine Society. She was an avid gardener and loved  canning and freezing fruits and vegetables.  She was active in TVCC craft activities, garage sales, library support, the genealogy club and loved all God’s creatures.  As an active member of the Tellico Village Cancer Support group, she provided support via e-mail and telephone calls to friends in other states with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reinhold and Inez Jacobson.  She is survived by her husband, Sidney M. Cranfill; children, Brian William Cranfill of New Berlin, WI and Bruce Sidney Cranfill of Troy, MI; grandchildren, Aaron, Alexander and Ryan; aunt, Helen Neideen and many loving cousins. Thompson, James Lincoln Jr. - age 81 of Lenoir City, went to be with the Lord after a long illness on Sunday morning, August 21, 2005.  James L. was a longtime member of Silver Ridge Baptist Church in Lenoir City and a pillar of the community.  He was a honorable veteran of the U. S. Sloan, Margaret Rapking  (Peggy) age 63 of West Knoxville, formerly of Madisonville, died suddenly Tuesday afternoon, August 23, 2005 as a result of an automobile accident. Magill, John Sampson (Buck) - age 89 of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at his home.  He was a retired welder from the K-25 Plant in Oak Ridge.  Buck served in the U. S. Army with the Ninth Infantry Division during W. W. Gibbs, Girlie Mae Napier - age 78 of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at her home.  She was of the Baptist faith.  A graduate of Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY.  Girlie was a retired school teacher with 30 years service in the Oak Ridge School System.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  Preceded in death by two weeks, her husband of 57 years, William D. Keck, Trula Lay age 82 of Knoxville went to be with the Lord Saturday afternoon, August 27, 2005 at her home. Trula was a member of Grassy Valley Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Palm Beach and later in life operated Aud's Camp, along with her husband. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth D. Wallace, Nancy D. - age 68 of Knoxville, passed away Monday, August 29, 2005, at Park West Medical Center.  She was a member of Church Street United Methodist Church.  Nancy was formerly active with Stephen Ministry at Concord United Methodist Church and was church organist for Ebenezer and St. Mark’s United Methodist Churches.  Nancy was retired from Whirlpool and had worked as a purchasing agent for Carborundum.  She received her certified teaching degree in music education from the University of Tennessee.  Preceded in death by husband, James Defriece Wallace, Sr.; parents, Haskett and Alice Duncan.  Survived by her children, Jim Wallace and wife, Lenora of Gallatin, TN, Patricia Wilson and husband, Chuck of Flintstone, GA, J. Williams, Lillian Fay - age 71 of Kingston, passed away Monday, August 29, 2005 at her home.  She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.  Retired from Y-12 after 47 years of service.  Fay was involved in working with the Salvation Army.  Preceded in death by parents, Aulcy and Rose Williams; sister, Helen Marcum and husband, David; brothers, Earl C. Williams, Roy A. Williams and Robert A. Cushman, George Thomas - age 90 of the Tellico Village Community in Loudon, TN, passed away Monday, August 29, 2005. George was born March 18, 1915, in Arlington, Massachusetts, to George and Helen Cushman.  He was a graduate of Harvard College where he received his Masters Degree.  George was drafted into the U.S. Army and assigned to the Panama Canal as a commanding general aide and later served as commanding officer of an interrogation team in Europe. He spent his career in education serving as Instructor of Romance Languages at Harvard and Head of the Spanish Department at Choate School in Wallingford, CT. He was President of the National Spanish Honor Society and had published two Spanish text books. After his retirement, he and his wife, Mary moved to Tellico Village in Tennessee and he became an active volunteer in local education in English as a second language for Spanish speaking students in Lenoir City. He served as Secretary- Treasurer of the Tellico Village Homeowner’s Assoc., Treasurer of Tellico Village Community Concerts and Loudon County Music Fund. He was a member of Tellico Village Community Church where he served on the Pastoral Committee and Mens Breakfast. A true renaissance person with a love of family, life and intellectual curiosity. He enjoyed music, opera and the symphony along with being an avid gardener, birder, sailor and sportsman. George was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Ruth Kennedy and Barbara Justus. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Dr. Mary F. Bell Cushman; daughter, Dr. Priscilla Cushman and her husband, Dr. Roger Rusack and their sons, Eliot Petersen and Christopher Rusack of Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Wendy Richmond and husband, David of Amenia, NY; brother, Chandler Cushman and wife, Maggie of Mesa, AZ; many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2005, at the Tellico Village Community Church with Rev. Martin Singley officiating. A reception will follow in the Church Christian Life Center.  Private interment will be in the Tellico Village Church Columbarium. Cranfill, Vivian Esther Jacobson - age 67 of the Tellico Village Community, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2005, at her home. Vivian was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who often dedicated herself to serving others. Vivian was born in Chicago, Ill in 1937 and was a graduate of Hirsch High School, Class of 1955. She was Den Mother for two lucky groups of Cub Scouts, was Parent Teacher Association President, Church leader and volunteer, and Construction Coordinator for handicapped access to her church in Northbrook, Illinois.  In recent years, Vivian especially enjoyed her association with the Red Hat Society and her position as secretary and Co-Program Chair-person in the Tellico Village Chapter of the American Wine Society. She was an avid gardener and loved  canning and freezing fruits and vegetables.  She was active in TVCC craft activities, garage sales, library support, the genealogy club and loved all God’s creatures.  As an active member of the Tellico Village Cancer Support group, she provided support via e-mail and telephone calls to friends in other states with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reinhold and Inez Jacobson.  She is survived by her husband, Sidney M. Cranfill; children, Brian William Cranfill of New Berlin, WI and Bruce Sidney Cranfill of Troy, MI; grandchildren, Aaron, Alexander and Ryan; aunt, Helen Neideen and many loving cousins. A Memorial Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, September, 3, at the Tellico Village Community Church. A luncheon will follow in the Church Christian Life Center. Branum, Charles Richard Sr. - age 85 of Kingston, formerly of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at his home. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Knoxville.  A veteran of W. W. II serving in the U. S. Schweikhart, Earl F. - age 82 of the Tellico Village Community in Loudon, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at the Loudon Health Care Center. Earl attended Tellico Village Community Church. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy . Earl was a skilled wood worker and was a member of the Tellico Village Wood Workers. He worked as a starter at Toqua Golf Club for many years and was a valued member of the Over the Hill Gang Golf Group. Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Vera and is survived by his many friends in Tellico Village. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 9, at the Tellico Village Community Church. Rev. Martin Singley will officiate.
