Moody, Martha Finney
age 95 of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Springfield, IL, passed away Thursday
Dec. 2 at NHC Farragut. Martha was an active member of Laurel United
Methodist Church in Springfield for over 80 years, was very involved in the
choir and the church music program. She founded and directed the church's
Youth Choir for some 30 years. She was also a member of the United Methodist
Women. In other community endeavors, she was active in the King's Daughters
and the P.E.O. Sisterhood. As a professional contralto, Martha sang in a
Quartet at the Temple B'Rith Shalom in Springfield for 40 years, and was a
soloist at a number of other Springfield churches throughout the years. She
was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Martha was
preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Moody in 1987; parents, Oscar and
Carrie (Sours) Finney; brothers, Everett and Glenn Finney. Survivors include
daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Jerry Seiler of Knoxville, TN; sons, J.
Richard Moody of San Pedro, CA; Robert Moody and wife Susan of Aurora, CO;
grandchildren, Nancy Moritz and husband Dan of Prior Lake, MN; Rev. Linda
Seiler of Carbondale, IL; Jon and Patrick Moody both of Aurora, CO; great
grandsons, Hayden and Holden Moritz; sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and
George Potts of Springdale, AR; several nieces and nephews and scores of
friends. The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at NHC Farragut
for their tender love and care for the past 3 years. The family will receive

Erma was the oldest member of the New Midway Southern Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter D. Pickel; parents, James A. and Addie Wright Green; sons, James W. (Dub) Pickel, Paul Pickel and Gary Pickel; daughter-in-law, Vivian Jean Pickel; brothers, Earl Green and Emory Green. Felker, Mrs. Leron
Faye Rodgers, age 86, passed away in
Knoxville, TN on Sunday, Decemnber 5, 2004, at the East Tennessee Hospice
Center. Mrs. Felker was born April 12, 1918, in Alcorn County, MS and
spent most of her life in Corinth, MS. She retired as quality control
supervisor in 1986 from Garan, Inc. In 1993 she moved to Tennessee to be
near her daughter and son-in-law. She was a member of Christ United
Methodist Church of Corinth. She was the beloved mother of Danny, David,
Dennis, and Brenda. Leron had a loving heart and a giving spirit. She was
willing to share all she had with others. Her wonderful sense of humor was
a delight to all. She will be greatly missed. Mrs. Felker was preceded in
death by her parents, A. Z. and Zola Williams Rodgers. Survivors: children
and spouses, Danny and Judy Felker of Memphis, TN; David and Linda Felker of
Eagan, MN; Dennis and Sally Felker of Hendersonville, NC; Brenda and Jim

Air Force. Rusty retired from Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge. He was a former
employee of Yale Security. He was a member of Ft. Loudon Coin Club.
Preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Bailey; parents, Frank and Mary
Bailey; brothers, Orville and Robert Bailey; sisters, Geneva Hayworth and
Faye Walker; special friend, Rosemary Hodge. Survived by his children,

Walter Miles age 52 of Farragut, TN,
passed away suddenly Wednesday morning, December 8, 2004, in Louisville, KY.
Walt was conducting Emergency Response Training for the City of Louisville
Police and Fire Department. He was owner of T2 Services, a transportation
and radiation safety consulting firm. Walt served as a Lieutenant in the
United States Navy Nuclear Submarine Service. He was an Asst. Scout Master
with Troop 444, Boy Scouts of America in Farragut. He was active for several
years with the Great Smoky Mountain Council. Walt was a member, Elder and
youth leader of Farragut Presbyterian Church. He was an avid fisherman,
artist and world traveler. Walt was a graduate of Purdue University,
Lafayette, IN with a B.S. Degree in Biology with Advanced Studies in Nuclear
Propulsion in the U S Navy. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sandra
Humphreys Hipsher, who is widely known as "The Cake Lady" in Farragut;
daughter, Heather Hipsher of Columbus, OH; Son, John Hipsher of the home;
parents, Aubrey and Catherine Hipsher, Dunedin, FL; brother, Michael Hipsher,
wife Donna and children, Michael and Donna of Indianapolis IN; brother,
Kenneth Hipsher, wife Jeannie and children Bradley and Patricia of Gilbert,

Jimmy was a member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. He was retired from A. E. C., where he worked on the Breeder Reactor Project. He also worked for T V A for many years. Jimmy was an avid golfer. He was a veteran of World War II serving in both the Navy and Army. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Cole, Dr. Robert R.
age 73 of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Walnut Ridge, AR, passed away suddenly
Tuesday morning, December 14, 2004 while on vacation. Dr. Cole was a
graduate of the University of Arkansas College of Medicine and received his
pathology training at Duke University. He was a retired pathologist with
Parkwest Hospital and the founding physician of Pathology Laboratories West.
He was a motorcycling and boating enthusiast. Dr. Cole had enjoyed long
journeys across the seas aboard freighter ships. He was a veteran of the U S
Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. Dr. Cole was preceded in death by
his father, Howard Louis Cole. Survivors: wife, Linda Hardin Cole; children,
Nancy L. West of Knoxville, Lauren Ann Toca and husband Cliff of Corona, CA,

| Reinhart, Helen Mary Brooks age 88 of Farragut, TN passed away Saturday evening, December 18, 2004 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Helen was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Cooper, Earlie L.
– age 89,
of Farragut,
TN, formerly of Meridian, MS, died at his home Sunday evening, December 19,
with his wife and daughter at his side. Earlie was a man who loved life and
loved people, most especially his sweetheart of 64 years, Vi. He retired
from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in 1982. In his retirement, he was
the groundskeeper and greeter for his daughter's veterinary practice,
Village Veterinary Clinic & Laser Center in Farragut, and is still
remembered by many as he rode his lawnmower, wearing coveralls and a straw
hat, waving to everyone. Earlie was a deacon of First Baptist Church
Concord, and served for years on the Landscaping Committee and also as a
Trustee. He was a member of the West Knoxville Lions Club. He graduated from
Berry College in 1938, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in the
Pacific during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Vi, of Farragut;
daughter and son-in-law Drs. Mili and Richard Bass of Farragut; son and
daughter-in-law Bud and Sherrie Cooper of Jackson, MS; grandchildren Butch
Cooper, Sharon Booker and husband Gary of Jackson, MS; great-grandson
Tristan Booker of Jackson, MS; brother Roy Cooper of Meigs, GA; nieces and
nephews Emily Smith and Alfred Burgess of Thomasville, GA; Martha Taylor of
Norcross, GA; and Ray Cooper of Hilton Head, SC. The Earlie Cooper family

Dottie was very outgoing and active until the last days of her life. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and great grandmother. He was retired from Union Carbide as a chemical operator. He was a veteran of the U S Army serving in the 517th Parachute Infantry during World War II. He was a lifetime member of the Sweetwater VFW. age 72 of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Washington, IL, went home to be with
the Lord on Wednesday, December 29, 2004. Gerri was a member of All Saints
Catholic Church and a former member of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church in
Washington. She founded A C Tax Service in Peoria, IL in 1970. She moved to
Knoxville in June 2004 to be close to her daughter and granddaughter. Gerri
was preceded in death by the father of her children, Clark Smith and
husband, Jerre Thomas. Survivors: son, Kevin Smith, wife Renee, and their
son, D. J. of Marquette Heights, IL; daughter, Kathy Ely, husband Keith and

Babb, Dr. Charles
Worthy - age 66 of Franklin, Tn., formerly of
Murfreesboro, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at Vanderbilt
University Medical Center following a short illness. He was a member of
Belle Meade Methodist Church in Nashville and a former member of First
United Methodist Church of Murfreesboro. For over 30 years he made his
career at Middle Tennessee State University, serving 2 terms as Faculty
Senate President. He was a charter member of the Mid-South Research
Education Association where he also served as president. He received
numerous grants and awards from professional associations. His writings were
published in a variety of scholarship journals. Dr. Babb initiated several
programs in the Department of Elementary and Special Education at M.T.S.U.
including the annual Math Contest, the Invention Convention and
implementation of the EFG Curriculum at Homer Pittard Campus School. He
also served as the department’s chair from 1994 to 1998. Worthy received
his Doctorate Degree from the University of Alabama. He was a member and
past president of Kiwanis Club in Murfreesboro. Preceded in death by
parents, Jack and Frances Babb. Survived by his wife of 42 years, Helen
Gustafson Babb; children, Betsy Babb Kennedy and husband, Rob of Nashville,
Chris Babb and wife, Heather of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Bo and Clare
Frances Kennedy, Jack Babb; sisters, Jacque Hines and husband, Douglas of
