Walker, Rev. Robert C.

1911, passed away December 3, 2005. He was born in Grainger County, TN
later moving to Lenoir City, TN and Chickamauga, GA. Rev. Walker while
working most of his years with Southern Railway, pastored many churches
locally and in Chickamuga, GA. He was instrumental in organizing five new
churches. For the past five years, he has served as weekly devotional leader
at Farragut Health Care Center. After retiring, he returned to Tennessee
where he was known for his tomatoes and other vegetables that he sold by the
roadside. Rev. Walker was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Hammer Walker;
son, Lendell Walker; son-in-law, Gene Brown and daughter-in-law, Brenda
Walker. He is survived by his wife, Florence (Pon) Walker; daughters,
Laverne Walker Brown, Enzelle Silvey and husband, Ben of Lenoir City; sons,
Darrell Walker and wife, Pat of Ellenwood, GA, Xan Walker and wife, Cricket
of Lenoir City, Dorman Walker and wife, Susie of Canton, GA; 10

Willie Mae, age 82 of Knoxville,
went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 3, 2005, at the Baptist
Health Care Center in Lenoir City. Willie grew up in the Cave Creek
Community in Roane County and made her home in North Knoxville. She was a
member of Alice Bell Baptist Church. Willie Mae and her husband owned and
operated W.C. Bruner Construction Company. She was preceded in death by her
husband, W.C. Bruner; parents, R.C. Dutton and Ada Cook Dutton. Willie Mae
is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Davis of Knoxville; step-daughter,
Daphana Marcella Page of Woodruff, SC; grandson, Andy Massey;
great-grandchildren, Chas Massey and Katie Massey of Woodruff, SC; sisters:
Alma (Rassie) Condrey and husband, Glen, Bobbie Hamby and husband, Gene of

| Brown, Scott Charles - age 37 of Indianapolis, IN died on Thursday, December 1, 2005. He was born on July 31, 1968 in Hannibal, MO, to Richard W. Brown and Elizabeth Sue Brown. Scott was a graduate of Barrington High School and the University of Illinois in 1991. He has worked in the hospitality business, specifically, with hotels in Knoxville, Phoenix, Des Moines, and Indianapolis. In Indianapolis, he was the Assistant General Manager with the Adams Mark Hotel downtown and more recently, with the Radisson Hotel as the Assistant Director of Sales. Scott was an avid golfer. Scott is survived by his fiancee’, Lisa Sproull; one daughter, Madison Elizabeth Brown of Stephanville, TX; his parents, Elizabeth Sue Brown and Richard W. Brown of Tellico Village; siblings, Michael W. Brown of Nashville and Kari L. Zeitz (Jon) of Knoxville; uncles, Charles Shoop (Penny) of Loleta, CA and Lynn Brown (Susan) of St. Louis, MO. O'Hair, Richard Hicks (Dick), Of West Knoxville TN, died Sunday Dec. 4, following surgery for Pancreatic Cancer. He was born July 30, 1923 in Muskogee, OK to Ralph M. & Clara Hicks O’Hair. He grew up in Rock Hill SC and graduated from Winthrop Training School in 1941. His college education was interrupted for three years by World War II, and as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Infantry he saw action in France, Austria and Germany. He graduated from Davidson College in 1947 where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity, Football, Wrestling and Track teams, ODK, and 1946 All-State Football Team. He also played for the Charlotte Clippers semi-pro football club. He married the former Harriette Dixon Grice on June 26, 1948. He was self-employed for many years in the insurance and estate planning field in Charlotte and worked for several years as a substitute teacher at Oak Ridge High School. In 1997, at the age of 74 he earned his MBA from Tusculum College. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and later of First Presbyterian Church in Oak Ridge, serving as an Elder and teacher. He was devoted to his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Frances O’Hair Gayle. He is survived by caregiver and daughter Bonnie O’Hair Murray and husband Sydney of the home, Amy O’Hair-Smith and husband Joe of Charlotte, a son Richard (Hap) O’Hair, Jr. and wife Karen of High Point, NC, the children’s mother Harriette Grice O’Hair, grandchildren Sydney Murray III, Richard O’Hair III, Colin Smith, Ashley O’Hair and Keely Smith and a brother Ralph M. O’Hair, Jr. Interment will be in the East TN State Veterans Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Oak Ridge with full military honors. retired minister and ordained Elder with the Church of the Nazarene.
Hartsell pastored over 40 years in Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Germany. Preceded in death by

Margaret Neeley - age 90,
Margaret was born on September 22, 1915 and passed away Sunday, December
13, 2005 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. She was
affectionately known as Granny Margaret to almost all who knew her and
will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She retired from Eaton
Corporation in 1977. Granny Margaret was an avid gardener who loved her
family, her church and "Coon Creek," her beloved home. She was a member
of the Second Baptist Church of Lenoir City. She was preceded in
death by her husband, James K. Dutton; her parents, Charles Lee Neeley
and Eva Ault Neeley Langley Collins; grandsons, Billy Joe Packett, Jr.

Hanna, Stanley Michael (Mike), Age 54 of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Beryl, WVA, passed away Friday evening, December 9, 2005 at his home. Mike was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. He was a member of Cedar Bluff Racquet Club and was an avid tennis player and golfer. Mike had a highly successful 30 year career in sales and sales management. He started in sales with Air-Shields in 1982. Mike later was employed by Omnicell Inc. As VP of Sales and operations. Mike is presently employed as Executive VP of Sales and Marketing of One Source Returns. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and John Hanna. | PRATER, ROBERT M. – age 61, formerly of Concord, TN, passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 11, 2005, at his home in Westmont, IL. Born Feb 11, 1944 and reared in rural Knox County, Robert graduated from Farragut High School, Class of 1961, where he was a member of the baseball team. He also attended DeVry Institute in Chicago. Upon his retirement this year, Robert planned to move his family back to his beloved East Tennessee to be among family and friends. Always a country boy at heart, he was an avid gardener who loved working in his flower gardens raising many varieties around his home. His many birdfeeders and birdbaths attracted finches, cardinals, and other birds he loved to watch. Robert enjoyed building a roaring fire, having a pizza and watching golf on TV with his wife. Friends and family knew him as a hardworking, good-natured man, who loved to playfully tease and tell stories of his childhood on the farm. Longtime co-workers described him as classy, down-to-earth, and personable. He always made people feel at ease. He will be deeply missed by his wife, son, family, and all who knew him. Robert was preceded in death by: his parents, Dewey Adam Prater and Dora Paul Prater Lawhorn; brothers, Paul F. (Joe) Prater and Jackie Prater; nephew Joey Prater; stepbrother, Samuel Lawhorn; and step-sister, Lillian Hall. Virginia Olive Carter,
age 97,
died
12/17/05, at Lenoir City TN. A life-long resident of the city, she was the
daughter of Eugene Bardwell Carter, former President of Holston
Manufacturing Co. and Martha America (Mattie) Dyer Carter. A socialite,
Carter made her debut at the Cherokee Country Club, Knoxville, TN in 1928,
and completed her education at Gunston Hall, a finishing school, in
Washington, DC. Later, she married Frederic Pitcairn Brandt, an "All
Southern" end on the Univ. of TN football team. They had no children. The Carters were among the founders of The Church of the Resurrection, Episcopal, Lenoir City-Loudon and Blanche Dyer Hooper, New York City, made a substantial contribution to the building of it. They remained active in both church and community. Ms. Carter is descended from the Jefferson and Dyer families of Virginia and a cousin, many generations removed, of President Thomas Jefferson. Ms. Carter will be laid to rest with her parents and Dyer grandparents at Greenhill Cemetery, Danville, VA at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 21. He was retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. and was a member of U. A. W. Union. | Redmond, James E. (Eddie) - age 58 of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2005. Eddie was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Army. Jane Anne Hanson Boyd - Age 70 of Concord Hills Farragut, TN, formerly of Greeneville, TN, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 22, 2005 at Baptist Hospital West, after a long battle with cancer. Jane was born November 5, 1935 in Lebanon, VA, daughter of the late Albert Bragg Hanson and Janie Ketron Hanson. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Greeneville for many years and was currently a member of Concord United Methodist Church in Farragut. Jane was a retired teacher from the Greeneville City School System. Gene was a member of Nelson Street Baptist Church and Fenders Antique
Tractor and Engine Club. He retired in the early 1980's from Union Local #3
of Knoxville where he was a brick and block mason and from Loudon County
Maintenance Dept. in 2000. He was preceded in death by parents, Bill and
Ada Crox Hickman; brothers, Kenneth and Billy Hickman; father-in-law, Harold
Bowden; mother-in-law, Lula “Tootie” Bowden. He is survived by his wife of
46 years, Del Rose Bowden Hickman; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Bob
Arwood; son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Patricia Hickman; grandchildren,
Gina Arwood, Leanne Wolfenbarger and husband, Frankie all of Lenoir City,

- age 78 of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2005, at Park
west Hospital. Sue was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She
retired from Genesco where she worked at the front office as a
receptionist. Sue was a wonderful caring person who enjoyed friends and
loved animals. She loved having friends in her home during the Holiday’s,
she had more fun doing this every year. Sue loved her yard and her
flowers. She always had a smile for everyone. She loved people and
everybody loved her. Preceded in death by husband, J. W. Lyon; parents,
Center and Mae Norman; sisters, Verna Pesterfield and Grace Buck; brothers,
Virgil, Earl and Paul Harvey. Survived by sister and brother-in-law, Geneva
and Charles Key of Atlanta, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The

Taylor Thomas Morgan Age 84 of Knoxville passed away early Friday morning, December 30, 2005 at Park West Hospital. Tom was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. He retired from the Internal Revenue Service with 30 years of government service. Tom was a highly decorated veteran of World War II serving with the 78th Infantry Division in the European Theater. He was a Tsgt. and the recipient of the EAME Theater Ribbon with 3 bronze stars and the bronze star. Tom was a graduate of the University of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Taylor Harrison Morgan and Carmi Adel Boswell Morgan; brothers, Jasper W. Morgan, Gene Boswell Morgan and Jerry Andrew Morgan.
