Nichols, Martha June - age 78 of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at Ft. Loudoun Medical Center.  She was retired from Dempster Brothers.  June had been a resident at Baptist Health Care in Lenoir City for 15 years.  She was preceded in death by husband, John C. McDonald, William K. “Mac” - age 73 of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at Parkwest Hospital.  He was a Corporal (T) 7 serving in the U. S. Army where he was an ambulance driver/Medic.  Mac was a member of the American Legion and the Optimist Club.  He was retired from Revco where he worked as a guard.  He was a member of Binghamtown Baptist Church in Middlesboro, KY.  Preceded in death by the mother of his children, Neille More McDonald; parents, Thomas and Lottie McDonald.  Survived by wife, Shirley Turpin McDonald; children, Martha and Connie Osborne of Bristol, TN, Billy and Eddie McDonald of Knoxville, Stacy and Terry Clabough, Tracy Mills, Billy and Christina Davis, Donna and David Wade all of Lenoir City; 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Thursday at Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City.  Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Eric Stone Encarnacion, age 16 of Knoxville passed away suddenly Wednesday morning, February 1, 2006. Eric was a Junior at Webb School where he was a member of the Webb Baseball Team and  the Robotics Team.  Eric was also active in community service at  East Tennessee Children's Hospital. Eric attended Cokesbury United Methodist Church and participated in REACH. He was a loving son and brother who will be greatly missed. Virginia Peterman Gibson age 80 of Hampton, VA, passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 8, 2006 at NHC Cavett Hill in Farragut, TN after a brief illness.  Virginia was a member of West Hampton Baptist Church for over 50 years. She taught Sunday School for over 35 years and was a member of the Senior Adult Choir for many years. She was retired from NASA at Langley Field in 1983 after 32 years of service. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband William James Gibson Jr.; parents, Claude Peterman and Faye O'Hare Peterman Nunn; brother, Robert Peterman. Stewart, James E. - of Loudon passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2006.  Jim was born December 4, 1933 in Lawrence Co., TN.  He attended M. T. S. U. in Murfreesboro from 1965 - 1967 and received a medical retirement from the U. S. A. F. in April of 1968.  Jim was ordained a Deacon at Hillhurst Baptist Church in Nashville.  He has been a member of First Baptist Church, Lenoir City since 1971 where he was formerly a member of the Littlefield Sunday School Class and presently a member of the Springer Sunday School Class. He served Sunday School Director Medium of Senoir Adults at First Baptist during Dr. Charles Redmond’s Pastorate. Preceded in death by his mother, Velma Jewel Stewart and father, Ira Amos Stewart.  Jim is survived by wife of 54 years, Ann Moore Stewart; daughter, Sarah Stewart Ballard of Nashville; sons, James Edward Stewart II and wife, Ruth Stewart of Nashville, Samuel Amos Stewart and wife, Kelli Wolf Stewart of Michigan; grandson, Lee Ballard of Nashville; granddaughter, Grace June Stewart of Nashville.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Click- Hawkins Chapel at 102 B. Osborne, Geraldine Blissitt - age 86, of Lenoir City, passed away at 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2006 surrounded by her family.  She was born June 27, 1919, to John and Essie Blissitt, and grew up in Cedartown, Georgia.  She received her teaching certificate from West Georgia College, attended the University of Georgia, and taught school in Rockmart, Georgia.  During World War II, she signed on with the United States Weather Bureau, and was the first female instrument reader ever assigned to the U. S. Naval Base at Key West, Florida.  There she met, fell in love with, and married her husband of 46 years, Edward Osborne.  In 1945, they returned to Knoxville, where Ed had attended and played football for the University of Tennessee.  Gerry received her B.S. in Education from the University of Tennessee in 1951, and began teaching at Nichols Elementary in Lenoir City, where she taught until 1984.  She supported from the sidelines as Ed coached football and girls’ basketball at Central High School, Stair Tech, and Lenoir City High School, where he later served as principal.  Gerry was an active member of Central United Methodist Church, Lenoir City, and was a longtime teacher and pianist of the Keystone Sunday School Class.  In her retirement years she enjoyed the “Thursday night Quilters” and served as President of the Loudon County Retired Teachers’ Association.  Gerry’s faith, independence and caring spirit will live on in her family and friends long after her death.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edward Osborne; sister, Ruby Montaine and brother, Dewitt Blissitt.  Survived by her daughter, Nancy Staub and husband Jim of Sevierville; granddaughters, Amy Morehous and husband David of Knoxville, and Elizabeth McKeever and husband Stewart of Charleston, SC; grandson, James Staub of Nashville; great-granddaughter, Katherine Morehous; sisters-in-law, Frances Ray of Lenoir City, Martha Kidd and husband George of Aiken, SC and Betty Jenkins of Lenoir City; eight nieces; four nephews; and seventeen great-nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Central United Methodist Church.  A celebration of life will follow at 3 p.m. with Dr. Mark Gooden officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the “Join the Journey” fund at Central United Methodist Church, 301 Hickory Creek Road, Lenoir City, TN 37771 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 2200 Sutherland Ave., Suite H-102, Knoxville, TN 37919, www.tnalz.org.  Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is serving the family of Geraldine Osborne.
Martin, James Edward - age 71 of Kingston passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at Parkwest Medical Center. He was a member of Poplar Springs Primitive Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt. for 16 years in Germany and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his father, Claude A. Thornton, Estel - age 79 of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2006, at the Parkwest Medical Center. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and was retired from Martin-Marietta. Estel served in the U.S. Army during W.W.II and the Korean Conflict. He was a Past Master and member of the Chota Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Scottish Rite and the Shriners were he served as Past Captain of the Provost Guard. He was an Avid bowler. Akins, Virgil W. - age 83 of Philadelphia, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2006, at his home. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. Virgil retired from Friendsville Rock Quarry. Preceded in death by his parents Charles and Lydie Akins; sisters: Inez Breeden, Pauline Selvage and Hazel Akins. Shearer, Daniel T. - of Lenoir City, departed this world on Wednesday morning, February 15, 2006.  He was born in Hermanie, Pennsylvania on January 11, 1917.  Mr. Shearer was a surviving member of the 101st Airborne Division in W. W. II.  In Europe, he participated in five major battles, Normandy, Holland, Battle of The Bulge, Southern France and Southern Germany.  Mr. Shearer was highly decorated having received the Combat Infantryman Badge, two stars on his Parachute Jump Wings for two combat jumps, one in Normandy and one in Holland.  His unit was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation twice.  The Foire de Guerre from France, The Fourrageres of Belgium, and the Lanyard of Holland; He also received, a Silver Star, Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts.  Mr. Shearer also served in the 82nd Airborne during the Korean War.  He was made Company Commander of the 82nd shortly after arriving there.  After leaving the Army in 1953, he served in executive positions in three Independent Telephone Companies in Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida and Georgia.  He retired in 1977, taking up residence in the Lenoir City, Loudon area.  Survived by his wife, Helen Masters Shearer; children, Margaret Shearer Ricciardi and husband, Gary, Thomas P. Shearer, Christopher Shearer and wife, Lisa Hunt Shearer; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.  The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City.  A funeral mass will follow at 1 p.m. with Father David Boettner officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery with full military honors being conferred by VFW Post 5150 and American Legion Post 120, 70 and 256. Carol, Zenon S. (Zeke) - age 83 of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon passed away Monday February 13, 2006 at the Loudon Healthcare. He was a member of the Tellico Village Community Church and retired from ABB Electrical Corporation as a Manager and an engineer. He was veteran of W.W. II serving in the U. S. Navy. Zeke was an avid golfer. Lynn Lusher Smith age 68 of Knoxville passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 15, 2006 at Baptist West Hospital following complications due to cancer. Lynn was born in Wichita Falls, TX. She spent the majority of her life in Texas and the last 10 years of her life in Tennessee. She was a devoted member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church. Lynn was retired from Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee and during her retirement volunteered her time at the Salvation Army, the Interfaith Health Clinic and the United Way of Greater Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Howard Wayne Willingham and Levan Smith; her father, Marvin William Hord and her brother, Robert Hord. LANE, SALLY LOU (DIEBOLD) – age 67 of Tellico Village Loudon , TN passed away Thursday morning, 23 February 2006 after her most recent battle with throat cancer.  Born in Buffalo NY 30 January 1939 to Alfred Diebold and Eleanor Kindron Diebold, and she attended Mount Saint Marys Academy of Kenmore, NY and a graduate of the University of Buffalo.  Sally was the lifelong companion and partner, and loving and devoted wife to E. James Lane, Jr.  A survivor in all the real terms, she successfully battled her cancer for almost 12 years, truly living and embracing each moment throughout the experience. Jim and Sally relocated to Tellico Village in 2001, where Sally immediately became involved in numerous groups and activities, including Preceptor Beta Theta National women’s sorority, Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, the Red Hat Society, past scribe of the Tellico Village Cruising Club, the Tellico Village Tappers, the Tellico Village Women’s Tuesday Golf League, and Past President of the Owatonna Art Center in Owatonna MN, where she founded what has become one of the largest juried art shows in the state of Minnesota.  Throughout her life, she embraced her many occupations – wife, partner, mother, home maker, and friend.  In all that she did, she brought a sparkle and a charm, and was a woman of tremendous love and dedication. Her legacy of love lives on in her husband, her children, her grandchildren, and all that were touched by her magical and wonderful life.  She is preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by her husband, Edward James (Jim) Lane, Jr, her son Edward James (Jim) Lane III, LCDR USCG and wife Lisa Marie of Mt. Pleasant, SC, her daughter Melissa Andrea Lane of Denver CO, and her two treasured grandchildren, Edward James (E.J.) Lane, IV and Rowan Alexa Lane. She is also survived by her three older sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Sutter of Elma, NY, Mrs. Jane Honecker of Bel Air MD, and Mrs. Carroll Becker of Vonore, TN. While Sally will be missed by all, the celebration of her life goes on in the thoughts and hearts of all those she touched.  The family will welcome all family and friends to a reception and viewing that will be held at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Lenoir City, at 1:30 PM on Saturday, 25 February, and will be immediately followed by a funeral mass at 2:30 PM at the same.  It is requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or your selected local charity in lieu of flowers, but flowers may be sent to Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City.

Mary Iowa Rogers Reynolds age 87 of Knoxville, formerly of Athens, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 21, 2006 at Park West Hospital. Mary was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church and the Ladies of Charity. She was well known in the golfing community, a member of Deane Hill Country Club and Whittle Springs Ladies Golf Association. She was a member of KAWGA and the Golden Girls Golf Association. She received numerous awards in golf including the Babe Zaharias Sportsmanship Award. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Frank T. Reynolds; son, Harold Reynolds; parents, William Hardie Rogers and Julettie Baker Rogers; sisters, Willie, Elizabeth, Lenoir and LaVerne; brothers, Roy and Hyatt. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law. Pierce, Sheila Kaye - age 53 of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2006 at her home.  She was a member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church.  Preceded in death by parents, Robert D. Walton, Mildred Lucille Potter - age 93 of Friendsville passed away Saturday February 25, 2006 at the Loudon Healthcare Center. She was a member of the Lenoir City Church of Christ. Mildred was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and was a retired school teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Walton, Sr. She is survived by her son, Donald Core Walton, Jr. and wife Wendy of Friendsville; daughter, Susan Cruze and husband Stephen of NC.; son, Charles Walton and wife Sharon of Friendsville; grandchildren, Jonathan, Rebecca and Lindsay Walton; sisters, Geneva Potter of Knoxville and Evelyn Edwards of McMinnville. Coria-Campos, Jose Luis age 35 of Knoxville, formerly of Mexico passed away suddenly Wednesday,February 22, 2006. Jose was an employee of U S Lawns of Knoxville. Gardner, Edna F. - age 71 of Kingston, passed away Tuesday February 27, 2006 at the home of her daughter,  Deana Childs in Oklahoma. She was of the Baptist Faith. Edna was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ferris James Gardner; brother, S. J. Gardner; sisters, Tee Dutton and Bonetta Alloway. James W. Walker - age 75 of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, TN formerly of Harrison Township, MI, passed away Monday, February 27, 2006.  James was retired from General Motors where he served for over 44 years. He retired as Chief Engineer of Base Engine Technology and Powertrain Group.  He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jeanette Walker; children, Jean (Tony) Hoholik, Ruth Walker and Kenneth (Cindy) Walker; grandchildren, James (Rochelle) Colella, Paul Colella, Matthew Hoholik and Jessica Walker; great grandchildren, Lauren Colella, Thomas Colella and Caroline Colella; brothers, Walter L. Grady Stanley Ingram, Sr. - age 67 of Lenoir City, passed away peacefully Monday, February 27, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer.  Grady was of the Church of God faith.  He was retired from T. V. A. and was member of Local #453 Boilermakers Union.  Grady served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post #70.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda F. Ingram; infant son, Stanley Tate Ingram; parents, Tate and Effie Ingram.  Survived by his son, Grady Stanley Ingram, Jr. and wife, Tiffany; daughter, Cindy Bluford and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Trey Ingram, Chris Bluford and Drake Ingram all of Lenoir City; brothers, Hubert Gilreath and wife, Nell, J. C. Ruth (Patton) Ellis - age 74 of Lenoir City formerly of Rockwood, went home to be with Jesus Monday, February 27, 2006 at Park West Medical Center.  Ruth was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church and retired from Allied Signal after 20 years service.  She was preceded in death by husband, James Ellis; parents, Lindsey and Ada Lyttle Patton; brothers, Paul, Silas and Ed Patton. Ritchie, Clara Coats, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday afternoon, February 28, 2006. Mrs. Ritchie had been a resident of NHC Assisted Living and Health Care in Farragut, TN for the last four years. Mrs. Ritchie was a faithful Christian and was a past member of Royal Oaks Presbyterian Church in Kannapolis, NC, and a current member of Concordia Lutheran Church in China Grove, NC. The love of Christ shone through Mrs. Ritchie in the love, kindness, generosity and compassion she gave to all who knew her. She lived according to Matthew 25:40, "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Mrs. Ritchie was born to James Robert Anderson and Beulah Mae Walker Anderson on March 5, 1911, in Centerville, AR.  She attended Winslow Prep School in Fayetteville, AR. Following high school graduation she attended Arkansas Tech. Most of her adult life she lived in various towns of North Carolina: Kannapolis, China Grove, Lenoir, and Concord. She married John Roy Coats and was blessed with three children: Wanda, Vicki, and Sylvia. Mr. Coats passed away in 1951. She later married Lewis Ritchie, who also preceded her in death, and was blessed with four stepsons: Ray, Jimmy, Charles, and Robert. Mrs. Ritchie worked as a dietician with Cabarrus County Schools and owned and managed a restaurant and rental properties. Survivors include daughter Wanda Cline of Concord, NC, daughter and son-in-law Vicki and Wally Baity of Farragut, TN, and daughter Sylvia Hipp of Salisbury, NC; stepson and wife Ray and Kay Ritchie, stepson and wife Jimmy and Judy Ritchie, stepson Charles Ritchie, and stepson and wife Robert and Vicki Ritchie, all of China Grove, NC; sister Artie Barnard of Gold Hill, NC; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, March 4 at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove, NC. Funeral services will be held at Concordia Lutheran at 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev.
