Burgett, Joan Theresa Jochum - a resident of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, TN for the past 11 years, passed away Friday July 2, 2004, at St. Mary’s Hospice in Knoxville, TN. Joan and her husband, Don were also former residents of: Pittsburgh, Penn Hills and Church Hill Borough in PA, Gross Pointe Park and Rochester in MI, Plum Grove Estates, IL and Memphis, TN, before retiring to Tellico Village. She was born June 7, 1931, in Glendale, W VA to Joseph and Helen Jochum. Joan was a graduate of Union High School in McMechen, W. Va., and the University of Pittsburgh/McGee Hospital School of Radiology. She was the Chief X-Ray Technician at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. She married her husband of 47 years, Don A. Burgett on November 3, 1956. Joan is survived by her husband, Don; brother, George Jochum and wife Patsy of MD; sister, Marlene Yahn of W VA., brother, Robert Jochum and wife Janet of IN; sons, William Joseph Burgett and wife Tami of Juneau, AK and James Eric Burgett and wife Mary of Wheeling, IL.; daughter, Lee Ann Burgett of MD; grandchildren, Katie Mae and Brett, Matthew and Maggie ; many nieces and nephews. Joan was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City, TN. She and her husband are avid boaters and Joan was an original crew member of TBART (Tellico Boaters Assistance Response Team). She was also a member of the Serra Club of Knoxville, United States Power Squadrons, Little Michigan Club, the Tellico Village Ladies 9 Hole Golf League and the Tellico Cruising Club. Poulsen, William Edward Jr. (Bill) age 54 of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly Buffalo, NY and Rio De Janeiro, Brazil,  passed away suddenly early Monday Morning, July 5, 2004 in an automobile accident in Welaka, FL. Bill was owner of the Age of Reason Book Store in St. Petersburg for 12 years. He spoke fluent Portuguese, was an avid surfer, but books were his life. Wallen, Anne Anderson, 51, of Farragut, TN, died Thursday, July 8, In Knoxville, TN, after a short illness. Anne was the daughter of the late R.R. "Dick" Anderson of Wichita Falls, Texas.  Anne and her partner, Carol Andrews, won the Texas State 4-A tennis doubles from Rider High School in 1971. She was also a 4 year high school scholastic letter recipient at Rider. Anne was an Honor Scholar at Mary Baldwin College, Staunton, Virginia, graduating in 1975. She also attended graduate school at Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas where she coached the women's tennis team. After college, Anne was a National Park Ranger with positions in Grand Tetons National Park, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Padre Island National Seashore. Anne was an avid sports enthusiast mainly enjoying tennis, hiking, family skiing and running. She is survived by her husband, Dan Wallen, and two sons, John Ayres Wallen and Thomas Edward Wallen all of Knoxville. Also her mother, Jane Anderson, and her sister, Lynn E. Anderson both of Wichita Falls, TX. step daughter, Sarah Jean Lord, husband Nathan and their daughter, Taylor of Greir, SC. Beach, David Benjamin age 85 of 12016 Broadwood Drive, Farragut, passed away on Saturday, July 10, 2004 at his home. Mr. Beach was born in Burkburnett, Texas and went to sea in 1938 after completing high school in Hamilton, Texas. He served in the United States Maritime Service (Merchant Marines) for all of World War II, rising from the rank of oiler to Chief Engineer in three years. He saw service in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters, was Chief Engineer on a troopship in the South Pacific for the last two years of the War, and achieved the rank of Commander in the United States Naval Reserve.  Following his maritime career, he joined Royal Globe Insurance as a Loss Prevention Engineer and retired in 1982 as Western Territorial Manager. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Society of Safety Engineers, and was licensed by the State of California as a Professional Engineer. He was preceded in death by Betty Beach, his wife of 57 years, and their daughter Julie Beach. He is survived by his daughter, Dea Zullo of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; his sons and daughters-in-law, David and Roxana Beach of Farragut, Daniel and Judy Beach of Seattle, Washington; three grandchildren, Laura, Christopher and Dana. Mason, Jeffrey Edward Jr. age 24 of Knoxville, formerly of San Diego, CA, passed away as a result of a swimming accident at Melton Hill Park on Saturday, July 10, 2004. Perritt, Lottie B. Moore - age 91of Lenoir City passed away Monday, July 12, 2004 at 12:15 p.m. at St. Mary’s Residential Hospice in Knoxville.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved gardening and was a wonderful cook. She worked at the Holiday Inn for 25 years until the age of 85. Preceded in death by husband of 60 years, P. J. Perritt and great grandson, Aaron Black. Survivors include all of her 6 children, Ruth Nelle Wilkinson and husband John of Albuquerque, NM, Lubie and wife Pat of Newport News, Va., Jimmy and wife Virginia of Knoxville, Charles and wife Geraldine of Spring Hill, Tn., Myron Wilkerson of Farmers Branch, Tx. and Byron of Lenoir City. Lynn, Rev. Joe F. - age 66 of Lenoir City, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, July 13, 2004, of an apparent heart attack.  He was a Baptist Minister for 35 years.  Rev. Joe organized and pastored Eastbrook Baptist Church in Dalton, GA from 1967 to 1976.  He also pastored Faith Baptist Church in White Pine, Friendship Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Church in Lenoir City.  He was presently a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Kingston.  Rev. (Jerry) passed away early Sunday morning, July 18, 2004 at his home in Farragut.  Best remembered as a husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Jerry is survived by his wife Jan, son and daughter-in-law Steve and Sue Michaelson; daughter and son-in-law Deanne and Allen Pannell; 5 grandchildren, Katie, Danny, Melissa, Nicholas and Jessica; nieces Mary Walsh and Kathy Peca; and nephew Tom Olson.  Born in Wausau, Wisconsin; Jerry was proceeded in death by his parents, Alexander and Emilie Michaelson; his sister and brother-in-law Joanne and Lee Olson; and sister Phyllis Michaelson. A life-long member of the Catholic faith, Jerry was a member of St. John Neumann Church.  A graduate of the University of Wisconsin Madison and member of the Iron Cross Society at his Alma Mater; Jerry worked for 28 years at North American Phillips, beginning his career in sales at Magnavox and concluding it as a Vice President of Marketing.  Upon his retirement in 1988, Jerry began a second career as a consultant, public speaker, travel writer and business author traveling around the world to locations including Finland, Australia, Lithuania, Thailand and China.  An expert on the Chinese military strategist Sun Tzu, as well as, sales, marketing, management, and quality control; Jerry authored ten books including the best selling Sun Tzu, the Art of War for Managers and Winning the Marketing War. In addition, his books have been translated into several languages including Russian and Chinese.  His writings also included a travel column for the Knoxville New-Sentinel with his wife. In addition to his business endeavors, Jerry was a national Vice President of the American Marketing Association and was instrumental in the formation of the Knoxville chapter. He was also an active member of Rotary, SKAAL, the Knights of Columbus, and the Society of American Travel Writers. Jerry also served as a second lieutenant in the army during the Korean War. First in Jerry's life was always his family and friends. His willingness to help those around him characterized his life and he became a mentor to many. The family wishes to thank everyone who cared for Jerry in the last 6 months of his life, especially the staff of NHC Farragut who also provided his wife and daughter with much support and care. We only wish that you could have all known him before his stroke. Finally, the family would like to thank our friends for their support and prayers and maintaining Jerry's spirits with their visits. Reynolds, R.L. - age 67 of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday morning, July 18, 2004. Drinnen, Mary Lou Reynolds Brown - age 81 of Maryville went to be with Jesus on Monday, July 19, 2004 at Fort Sanders Hospital in Knoxville.  She was a longtime member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Maryville.  Mary Lou was a longtime member of A.A.R.P. and a volunteer Pink Lady with Blount Memorial Hospital for 30 years.  To all children she was known as “Granny”.  Preceded in death by father, Elmer Reynolds; mother, Sally Wilkerson; brothers, Roy Reynolds, Earl Reynolds and Robert Wilkerson; sister, Ida Tilley; sons, Thomas H. Charles Henry Searles - 96, Huddleston, Virginia passed peacefully in his daughter's home on Tuesday, July 20th, 2004. He was born June 12, 1908 in Veteran, New York. He is survived by his wife, Myrna of Lenoir City, TN, three daugthers; Phoebe (Walt) Carre of Mullica Hill, NJ; Jane (Harry) Cooper of Huddleston, VA; and Alice (Dick) Cubberley of Lenoir City, TN; and one son, Burton (Nellie) Searles of Flower Mound, TX.  There are fourteen grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He supported the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church during his lifetime, recently a member of Pecks Baptist Church of Bedford, VA. Missions was his lifelong ministry and he was a powerful prayer warrior throughout his adult life. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Community Church, P.O. Searcy, Daniel King age 83 of Knoxville, TN, died at his home on July 21, 2004. Dan was a native of Boaz, Alabama. During World War II he flew thirty missions as a B-24 bomber pilot stationed in England. After completing his education at the University of Alabama, he was a flight instructor and commercial pilot.  Afterwards, he was a businessman in Boaz, AL for many years. Mr. Searcy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Boaz and a Past Master of the Boaz Masonic Lodge #546 F&AM. His parents, D. K. and Edith Searcy preceded him in death. Mr. Searcy is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jane Mitchell Searcy; son, Mike Mitchell Searcy of Birmingham, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Kate (Martha) Searcy Lucero and Andrew Lucero; grandchildren, Brenna, Connor, and Cailin Lucero all of Laramie, WY; other survivors include a brother, Charles Searcy of Sylacauga, AL, and sisters-in-law, Ann Mitchell of Knoxville, TN, and Marjorie Mitchell of St. Simons Island, GA, and several nieces and nephews. Mills, Adam Christopher, beloved son of Catherine Colleen Strickland, and adored brother of Melissa Christine Mills passed into eternity on July 16, 2004 in Knoxville, Tennessee. A native of Charleston, SC, he was born on November 8, 1978. Adam attended the First Assembly of God in Charleston, SC. Hartline, Lawrence Cecil age 84 of Lenoir City, passed away Friday evening July 23, 2004 at Baptist Hospital West. Cecil was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.  A veteran of W. W. II serving in the U. S. Army.  Cecil served in the battle of Rhineland in Central Europe where he received the Purple Heart.  He was a former employee of Robinson Freight Lines.  Preceded in death by parents, O. R. Pipkin, Alfred Douglas (Doug) age 81of the Tellico Village Community, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday evening July 24, 2004 at the Fort Sanders Parkwest Hospital. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lenoir City, Waverly Masonic Lodge 304 F & AM and was a 50 year Scottish Rite 32 Degree Mason and was an avid golfer.  Doug was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in W.W.II and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was an Electrician for TVA for 50 years. He was preceded in death by wife, Alyce Jayne Pipkin and his parents, Fred and Kate McNeil Pipkin.  He is survived by his children, Jimmie Pipkin and Janet Pipkin Freeman both of Knoxville, Michael Pipkin of Lenoir City; granddaughters, Christian Freeman, Margo Hargis and Katelyn Pipkin; great-grandsons, Foster Freeman and Chance Hargis; sisters, Ruby Patterson of Knoxville, Helen Painter of Tuscumbia, Ala.; Jean Benson and husband Bill of Knoxville; brother, Charles E. Green, Edna Lucille Brummitt - of Lenoir City, on Monday, July 26, 2004, our loving mother’s spirit left this world on her journey to be reunited with our Lord Jesus Christ.  Edna Lucille Brummitt Green was born on May 25, 1932 to Oscar and Mollie Brummitt.  She was a champion of the oppressed, a devoted daughter, wife, and caring mother.  She was of the Baptist faith.  She believed that happiness dwells in your soul and neither gold nor possessions could buy you happiness.  Edna was retired from Allied Chemical.  Preceding her in passing were her parents, Oscar and Mollie Brummitt; her spouse, Floyd Green; one sister, Patricia Annette, and three brothers, Bobbie F., Johnny, Bill, and Clifford Brummitt.  Deeply saddened survivors include: two daughters, Brenda Lanford and her spouse, Larry, Sherrill Newcomb Loveatz and her spouse, Frank; two sons, Floyd (Casper) Jerome Green, Mark A. Rule, Ruby G. age 96 of Farragut, TN, formerly of South Charleston, WVA, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 27, 2004 at the Shannondale Health Care Center in Knoxville. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Harry Rule Sr.; daughter, Jean Ann Rule. Powell, Patricia A. (Patty) - age 43 of Lenoir City went home to be with our Lord  at 7:45 a.m. on July 27, 2004 at her home. Patty was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was loved by all her knew her. She was a very active member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and will be greatly missed by her church family. Patty was a Sunday School Teacher and loved to sing for the Glory of God. Carroll, Charles T. age 93 of Farragut, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 27, 2004 at Brakebill Nursing Home. Charles was born and raised in Provo, Utah, January 26, 1911. He was a graduate of the University of Utah earning a Bachelor of Science degree. Charles served in the United States Navy from 1934 to 1938 aboard the USS Nevada. At the time of his retirement, he was a department manager at Hughes Aircraft Company in Culver City, CA. He is survived by his companion, Gertrude Olds of Farragut. Harmon, Margie Lee Patty - age 71 of Kingston, passed away Monday, July 27, 2004 at Ft. Sanders Parkwest Hospital.  She was a member of Hines  Valley Baptist Church.  A former employee of Scovill with 35 years service.  Margie loved bowling and enjoyed fishing.  The main passion of her life was her grandchildren.  Preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Zalla Patty; brothers, Ralph and Raymond Patty.  Survived by her husband of 43 years, Joe F. Raby, Wayne E. age 88 of Knoxville, passed away early Thursday morning, July 29, 2004 at Park West Medical Center, surrounded by his nieces, nephews and cousins, who were are like children to Wayne and Opal. Wayne attended Marietta Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was active in the Truck Stop Ministry of Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a  retired Captain from the Tennessee Highway Patrol with 34 years of service. After his retirement, he worked for the City of Knoxville in Risk Management. Wayne was a "Yellow Dog Democrat" and assisted Frank Clement in his campaign for governor. Gov. Clement made his first campaign speech at the Democratic Fish Fry which was held annually at  the home of W. H. Raby, Wayne's father. Wayne was a veteran of World War II serving with the Army in the Battle of the Aleutian Islands. Decker, William Albert - age 68 of Lenoir City passed away Friday, July 30, 2004 at Loudon Healthcare Center.  Albert was a member of Faith In Jesus Christ.  He was a 27 year employee of Maremont.  He was preceded in death by parents, Jasper and Willie Decker; brothers, Jessie, Sonny and R. L. Decker.  Survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Jane Johnson Decker; son, Mike Decker of Lenoir City; daughter, Debbie Galyon and husband, Lee Roy Galyon Jr.; grandsons, Michael and Brayden Decker; granddaughter, Bailey Decker; daughter-in-law, Jennifer all of Lenoir City; sisters, Evelyn Moses and husband, J. Standifer, David Ronald (Ronnie) -  age 55 of Knoxville passed away Friday July 30, 2004 at the U.T. Medical Center.  He was an employee of Delta Casket Company. Preceded in death by his wife, Polly Standifer; parents, Cecil and Lavica Standifer; sister, Joyce Daily; brothers, Gary and Bud Standifer. Ronnie is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Ann Standifer and granddaughter, Caitlin Renay both of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Mary Sam Ward of Lenoir City; aunt, Florence Mitchell; nephews, Bradley and Andrew Standifer; niece, Amanda; special friends, Bertha and Lynn McGinnis and Robin Lewis. Onder, Frank J. - age 70 of Lenoir City, passed away Friday, July 30, 2004 at his home.  He was a retired tool and die maker for Carboloy Inc. in Lenoir City.  Preceded in death by parents, Michael and Ann Onder.  Survived by son, Michael Onder of Cleveland, OH; granddaughters, Toni of Cleveland, OH and Rebecca of Arizona; sisters, Mary Ann Phillips of Richfield, OH and Faye Matyk of New Jersey; brothers, Paul Onder of New Jersey, Pete Onder, Mike Onder and Joe Onder all of Pennsylvania; many nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City.  A memorial service will follow at 7:30 p.m. with Rev.
