Archie was retired from the U S Army with 22 years of active service. Worthy, John Edgar Jr. - age 93 of Lenoir City passed away Friday, March 3, 2005, at Park West Hospital.  He was a veteran of World War II serving in  the U. S. Army.  Retired from L.C.U.B. where he worked as a meter reader and a service dispatcher.  John was a member of First Baptist Church.  A member and longtime chaplain of American Legion Post #70 and VFW Post #5150.  John was a member of Masonic Lodge #593 F & AM where he was Past Master and Chaplain also a member of the Scottish Rite, York Rite and Kerbela Shrine. John was a 50 year member of IBEW Local #760. He was preceded in death by wife, Dorothy Garrett Worthy; parents, John Edgar Worthy Sr. and Lulu B. deWolf, George Levay - age 81, of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, TN, passed away Saturday, March 5th, 2005 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.  He grew up in Rhode Island, attended Moses Brown School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Brown University.  For 20 years he was employed at General Electric Company in Ashland, MA during which time he created and had his name placed with GE on four patents.  After 20 years with National Cash Register Company in Ithaca, NY he and his wife retired to Port LaBelle, FL, then thirteen years ago they moved to the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, TN where they were active in First Presbyterian Church, Lenoir City and more recently at First Baptist Church of Tellico Village.  Preceded in death by parents and brother.  He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ida May; 3 children, Carol Douglas of Fairbanks, AK, Alan deWolf and wife, Virginia of Tallahassee, FL and Glen deWolf and wife, Valerie of Plano, TX; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and 2 brothers.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 27th at First Baptist Church of Tellico Village.  A Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Woodard, James Harris- age 93 of the Bradbury Community, Lenoir City TN, formerly of Vernal Mississippi, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005, at the Roane Medical Center. Harris was a member of Clinch View Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was also an eight year veteran of the USMC as a China Marine and in WWII in the Pacific.  Harris retired from the Atomic Energy Commission in Oak Ridge and continued to farm.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Amy Ann who passed away in 1999. Ghormley, William David (Doc) - of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2005.  David was born October 31, 1923  in Lenoir City, TN.  He graduated from LCHS in 1942.  David enrolled in Tennessee Wesleyan College, Athens, TN and, after joining the U. S. Navy in December 1942, continued his education at TWC, Carson Newman College and University of Notre Dame.  Upon completion of Midshipman’s School and receiving a commission as Ensign, USN, he volunteered to serve in Underwater Demolition Team 4 (Frogman), and was training for duty in the Pacific at the end of W W II.  He graduated from the University of Tennessee, earning a BS in Finance and Economics.  He returned from service in the Navy in 1946 to enter business with his father in operating the local Ford agency.  In 1954 he left the automobile business and became an employee of Union Carbide Corporation at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, where he remained until retirement in 1982.  David was very active in civic organization, joining the Junior Chamber of Commerce as a charter member, the Lenoir City Rotary Club, serving as president in 1962-63, and becoming a Paul Harris Fellow, which is the highest individual honor awarded by Rotary International.  He served two terms on the Lenoir City Council, and was instrumental in formulating the first city budget.  He was also active in the formation of the Boys Club in Lenoir City, served on, among many others, the first Education Task Force in Lenoir City.  David was a life-long member of Central United Methodist Church in Lenoir City where he sang in the choir for 60 years and taught Sunday School classes for over 50 years, holding virtually every office in the church administration during the years.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Edgar and Julia Cleo Ghormley; sister, Alice Ann Cox and grandson, Edgar Ashley Ghormley.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Martha Eunice Williams Ghormley; son, William David Jr. and wife, Suzanne; daughter, Becky Eaker and husband, David, both of Lenoir City; granddaughters, Susan Renee Ghormley of Lenoir City and Shelby Elizabeth Royston and husband, Chad of Morristown; grandson, Dr. Shannon Stewart Eaker and wife, Shawni of Los Alamos, NM; several nieces and nephews  The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of River Oaks in Lenoir City and all Parkwest Unit Nurses and Doctors.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Central United Methodist Church with funeral services to follow at 7:30 p.m.  Dr. C. Sr. - age 68 of Lenoir City passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 15, 2005.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lenoir City where he was a member of Dick DeMerchant’s Sunday School Class.  James was retired from Civil Service in Gretna, LA.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U. Richeson, John G. age 76 of Knoxville died peacefully early Saturday morning, March 19, 2005 at Farragut Health Care Center after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. Mr. Richeson was born Feb. 20, 1929, in Sistersville, West Virginia and was of the Methodist faith, former member of the Fairfield Glade Methodist Church. Growing up near the coal mines of West Virginia, he learned to love the sights and sounds of giant heavy equipment and spent a career designing, operating, repairing and teaching young mechanics the craft he loved. Mr. Richeson began his career as a Caterpillar scraper designer, worked on the Indiana Turnpike, was the service manager for W. W. Williams Co. and retired from TVA as the Supervisor of the TVA Central Shop, Watts Bar, where he designed and over saw the building of the most modern and innovative diesel equipment rebuild shop of it's time. He enjoyed boating and spent most of his retirement working at the Dartmoure Marina and playing golf at his home in Fairfield Glade. Mr. Richeson was preceded in death by his parents, Brady and Rose Richeson. He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Sue, who stayed at his side throughout his long illness. He is also survived by his children and spouses, Sally and Ken Jones of Kingston, Connie and Michael Lance of Knoxville, Elizabeth and Randy Householder of Knoxville, John Jr. DDS and Deanna Richeson of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Laura and Melissa Lance of Knoxville, Kirk Richeson of Atlanta; sisters and spouses, Betty and Joe Davisson, Nancy and Dave Shelton all of Sun City West, AZ; a niece and 2 nephews. Mackay, John R. (Jack) age 81 of Knoxville, TN  passed away Friday evening, March 18, 2005 at his home. Jack was a member of John XXIII Catholic Church. He was the first Lower School Headmaster at Webb School of Knoxville from 1968 to 1973. He was born and raised in the Cleveland Ohio area. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U S Army in the 106th Infantry and fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was a POW. He held a Masters degree in education from Kent State University. Jack was a lifelong educator. He was a Master Gardener and after his retirement he worked in the gardens at the City County Bldg. He was preceded in death by his brother, Grant Mackay. Harold, Vaughn W. - age 82 of Lenoir City passed away Wednesday March 30, 2005 at the Parkwest Medical Center. He was a member and deacon of Signed, Sealed and Delivered Outreach Ministry. He was a retired dairy farmer for many years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Irene Headrick Harold; father, William T. Harold; brothers, Jim and Otis Harold; sisters, Edna and Mona Belle. Survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Harold; children, Donald William Harold and wife Lisa, Mary Jane (Janie) Pettiford and husband Glenn, David J. Harold and wife Tracy, Joyce A. Smith and husband Jeff, Billy Wayne (Bill) Harold and wife Linda, Steve Harold and fiancee’, Farah Jackson; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including Dickie, Gary, Doug and Keith Harold, Teresa Newburn, Tony Maze, Tanya Lovett, Junior Stephens, Tammy Stevens, Lea Stevens and Lou Stevens; special friends, Janet McMahan, Larry and Helen Aikens, many other church family and friends. Beason, Florence V. Hall - age 66 of Kingston, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away, Thursday evening, March 31, 2005.  She was a member of Shepherd’s Fold Baptist Church in Loudon.  Her husband,  Rev. Everett Beason pastored several churches in Loudon County and several surrounding counties. Florence was preceded in death by her son, James Daryl Beason; granddaughter, Amanda Cagley Maher; her parents and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Rev. Everett Beason; children and spouses: Gary Wayne Beason and  Dee Dee of Greenville, TN, Sharon Cagley and Joey of Knoxville, James Beason and Sandra of Lenoir City, Sonya Price and Ricky of Loudon; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Homer Hall of Riceville; sisters: Sue Holland, Geneva Moore both of Sweetwater, Faye Hambrick of GA and Opal Moore of Cleveland; mother-in law, Roxie Roberts of Midtown; sisters-in-law, Opal Janow and husband Clyde of Midtown, Connie Powell and husband Mike of Madisonville; brother-in-law, David Beason and wife Louise of GA.; several nieces, nephews and many special friends. Garrett, Rev. Arnold age 68 of Knoxville, went home to be with Jesus Sunday morning, April 3, 2005 at Park West Hospital. Arnold was a member of Valley View Baptist Church. He was retired from White Lily with 38 years of years of service. He was a member of Powell Lodge #582 F&AM, Scottish Rite, York Rite, Shriner and the Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons of TN.   A veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U S Army. He was a member of the Walking Club at West Town Mall. Arnold was preceded in death by parents, John Garrett and Mary Belle Worley Garrett Anderson; brothers, Willie, Richard Lee and Robert Garrett; sisters, Mable Phillips, Dovie Bynes and Louise Johnson. Survivors: wife, Naomi Garrett; sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Gene and Jayma Garrett, Jeffrey and Janice Garrett, Rev. Greg and Denise Garrett; grandson, Lynn Garrett and wife Debra all of Knoxville;  sister, Elizabeth Jones of Loudon; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:45  p.m. Tuesday at the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel followed by a masonic service at 7 p.m. conferred by Powell Lodge. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Delton Cochran and Rev. Steve Grindstaff officiating. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Highland Memorial Cemetery for graveside service with Rev. Paul Walker and Rev. Dewey Cooper officiating.
