Bright, Naomi C. - age 85 of Lenoir City passed away Monday morning May 2, 2005, at the Loudon Nursing Home. Naomi attended Highland Park Baptist Church and was retired from Charles H. Bacon Co. after 45 years of service. She did volunteer work for the Adult Basic Education and the Literacy Reading Program. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer C. Bright; parents, Joseph H. and Myrtle Henson Crye; brother, Harold Crye; sisters, Carrie Lee Crye, Mary Lou Tinnel and Mattie Marie Elliott; nephews, Howard, Allan and Harry Tinnel. Naomi is survived by her nieces and nephews: Ivan and Barabara Tinnel, Bob and Violet Tinnel, John and Patricia Tinnel, Marie Tinnel, Judie Tinnel Pullen, David Crye, Bill Elliott; several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews also survive. Cannon, Doris E. - age 77 of Gadsden, Ala. formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Monday, May 2, 2005 in Anniston, Ala.  She was of the Protestant Faith.  Preceded in death by husband, William E. Johnson, Blanford Robert (Bump) - age 87 of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at Colonial Hills Nursing Home in Maryville.  He attended Highland Park Baptist Church.  Bump worked at Armstrong Candy Factory and was retired from T. V. A.  Preceded in death by wife, Ruth Campbell Johnson; parents, Pereze (P. Giammarino, Anthony Thomas, age 85 of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, went to rest peacefully surrounded by his family, Wednesday evening, May 4, 2005 at Baptist Hospital West Hospice. Tony owned and operated a family jewelry company until his retirement. He was  generous man who always found the time to help his neighbors.  Tony and his wife moved to Knoxville in 2000. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U S Army stationed in Washington D C. He was a loving husband and a devoted father. Tony enjoyed deep sea fishing.  He was preceded in death by his parents,  Pasquale and Filomena Giammarino; brothers, Joseph and Pat Giammarino; sisters, Anne Albano and Minnie Pasqualini. Brown, Rev. Keller B. - age 81 of Loudon, TN passed away Thursday, May 5, 2005, at Park West Medical Center.  He was born March 16, 1924 to Harrison and Dora Belle Brown in Loudon. Rev. Brown was ordained into the Ministry in 1950 and served as a pastor for over 50 years in Loudon, Roane, McMinn, Bradley and Monroe Counties.  Keller was a member of Stockton Valley Baptist Church.  A veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers.  He was a member of the Philadelphia Masonic Lodge # 425 F&AM.  Keller was active with the Southern Baptist Convention and Loudon Baptist Association.  Preceded in death by parents; first wife and mother of his six children, Margaret Kirkland Brown and granddaughter, Marla Kay Brown.  Survived by his wife of 23 years, Dorothy T. Lee, Johnny W. - age 68 of Tellico Village, after a valiant battle with cancer and Parkinson disease, passed away at home on May 9, 2005.  He grew up in Cookeville, TN and moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1956, where he made his home for more than 40 years.  After his retirement from General Motors, he moved to Tellico Village in Loudon County Tennessee in 1997.  Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eva Lee and niece, Barbara Davis.  He is survived by his grieving family, including his devoted wife of 39 years, Janice M. Lee; daughter, Connie J. Anthony, Essie L. of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Fisherville, TN, went to be with her Lord on May 8, 2005 because of complications of Myasthenia Gravis. Essie was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ada James; father, Albert Ross Hamner; mother, Ollie Seward; husband, Charles D. Anthony and son-in-law, Hal Buren. She is survived by her daughter, Juanita Buren of Atlanta, daughter and son, Ginger and Bill Hines of Knoxville; granddaughter, Dana Michelle Hines of Birmingham; brothers, Pat Hamner and Larry Seward; sister, Mary Ann Favazza. She is also survived by numerous other loving family members and friends. Essie was a retired employee of Holiday Inn Executive Offices. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fisherville. Essie was a much loved and courageous lady who daily demonstrated her tenacious love for her family and strong faith in God. She was an inspiration and blessing to all who came in contact with her. There is no way Essie's family can fully express their appreciation for the love, prayers and support extended to Essie and to them during her long and courageous battle with Myasthenia Gravis. They want everyone who loved her to know how special they were to her. The family would also like to extend a special thanks to Mrs. Jo Ann Babb and Cayla Babb whose love and kindness allowed our Mom the dignity she deserved and made her struggle so much more bearable. Dhar, Ashok K., age 58, of Knoxville passed on to his heavenly abode on Thursday morning, May 12, 2005. Ashok was a Senior Director at CTI Molecular Imaging Inc. He was very active in charitable organizations and was a man of great devotion to his family, friends and work. Benson, Martha Ouida - of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon,  passed away Saturday evening, May 7, 2005, at her home. She was born in Moulton, Alabama, the youngest child, to Tennis and Luna Bert McMillan. At the age of three she moved with her family to Marietta, Oklahoma, back to Moulton for approximately a year and then back to Oklahoma. Upon graduation from Marietta High School, Ouida went to Oklahoma A&M for a time before applying for and being accepted into flight attendant training. Upon graduation she became a stewardess for TWA based in Chicago. She then moved to Detroit where she worked as a secretary and office manager for an automotive manufacturer, architectural  firm, a sales person for a real estate company and a paralegal.  Ouida retired in 1993 as assistant to the superintendent for Warren Woods Schools. She moved with her husband Bob Deane to Tellico Village. Mr. Deane passed away in 2001 and Ouida became Mrs. Gerald Benson  in 2002. Ouida was a member of the Tellico Village Community Church where she conceived and worked with a sister to paint the portrait of Pastor Emeritus Carl Burke, which hangs in the Narthex of the church. She was an avid skier, golfer and sailboater. She was a member of the Gross Pointe Sail Club and a qualified small vessel sailboat captain in the British Virgin Islands. In Tellico Village she belonged to the Village Players, performing as female lead in five of the seven theatrical productions in which she appeared. She served on the board of the Tellico Village Cruising Club and was one of the first T-Bart Captains. Ouida was also a member of the Ladies Golf League, Illinois Club, Retired Airlines Employee Club, Home Owner’s Association and American Wine Society. Preceded in death by her first husband and her parents; brothers: Arnold, Melvin and Cecil McMillan; sisters, Johnnie Brett and Helen Tooker. Survivors include her husband, Gerald Benson. Although she did not have any children of her own, she was very proud of her three step-sons: Greg Benson and wife, Karen of Birmingham, MI, Jerry Benson and wife, Ann of Chapel Hill, NC, Michael Deane and wife, Beth of Palm Harbor, FL; and her eight step- grandchildren: Steven, Sue, Thomas, Andrew, Jennifer and Nicole Benson, Robert and Joe Deane, easily winning a place in their hearts; sister, Tomi Carlyn of Lawton, OK. along with several nieces and nephews who hold her very close to their hearts. Nairn, Vera Katherine “Blake” - age 90 of Lenoir City, passed away Friday, May 13, 2005 at the Farragut Healthcare Center in Tennessee. She was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Port Huron, Michigan and was retired from Prestel Light in Port Huron and Winnebago in Iowa. Vera was preceded in death by her husband, David Nairn; children, Donna, Nancy and Roger Blake; parents, Adam M. and Bertha K. Thiel; sister, Mary E. Brown and twin brother and sister, Jean M. White and Jane M. McDonald.  She is survived by her brother, John T. White of Port Huron, Michigan and sister, Beverly B. Ray, Robert K. age 77 of Knoxville, formerly of Athens, TN, died suddenly May 16, 2005 at Park West Hospital. Robert served in the U S Navy in World War II. Jones, Kenneth age 87 of Knoxville, formerly of Buffalo, NY and Punta Gorda, FL, passed away early Tuesday morning, May 24, 2005 at Baptist Health Care Center after a long illness. Kenneth was a member of the Church of the Good Samaritan, Episcopal and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. As a veteran of World War II, he served as a pilot with the Royal Canadian Air Force before transferring to the U.S. Army Air Corp. After the war, Kenneth built, and later retired from, the K.A. Jones Insurance Agency in Buffalo and Arcade, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vida Jones; son, Scott Jones and his brother Stanley Jones and wife Marion of Orchard Park, N.Y. Phillips, Rev. Samuel Raymond - age 86 of Lenoir City, departed this world, Wednesday, May 25, 2005.  He has taken up residence with the Lord.  During his ministry, he pastored at Cave Creek Baptist Church in Roane Co., Jackson Chapel and Calvary Baptist Church in Loudon, Silver Ridge Baptist Church in Lenoir City, and Shady Grove Baptist Church in Knox Co.  For many years he was active in Jr. O. U. A. M., he was also active in the American Legion before his health turned bad.  Raymond served in the U. S. Army during W. W. Welch, Ray Orville “Mickey” - age 75 of Lenoir City, passed away Monday, May 30, 2005 at his home after a 20 year battle with numerous illnesses.  Mickey served in the Korean War with the U. S.
