Torrey, Charles P. (Phil) age 80 of Farragut, TN and formerly of Hesperia, CA passed away Monday, November 3, 2003 at Baptist Hospital West.  Phil was of the Baptist faith.  He was a lifetime member of the International Rotary Club.  Phil enjoyed golfing, was an avid reader, and he maintained his interest in world politics.  For decades, his humor,  wit and storytelling abilities endeared him to his family and friends.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII serving in the Pacific Theater.  Subsequently, he attended and graduated from Georgetown University in Washington D.C.  Upon graduation, he joined the US State Department's Foreign Service and served as a US Diplomat for 27 years.  His service included assignments in Honduras, Paraguay, Mexico, Colombia, Barbados, Belize, and the United States.  Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Karen Torrey of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren Elizabeth, Ashley, Phil and Kyle  all of Knoxville, TN; and many friends and neighbors in Hesperia, CA.  Phil can best be remembered by his favorite quote  from  General Douglas McArthur, "God, Country, Family, Honor, Duty."  He lived his life accordingly.  The family will receive friends from 6-7:30  p.m. Wednesday with a memorial service to follow at 7:30  p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with Dr. Doug Sager officiating.  Graveside services and interment will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Tennessee State Veterans' Cemetery -  Lyons View and Northshore Drive, with full military honors conferred by the U. Fox, Jonnie S. age 73 of Lenoir City passed away Monday, November 3, 2003 at her home.  She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene.  Jonnie was a retired tax consultant.  She was an avid bowler and former president of the Senoir Citizen's Bowling League.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie E. Nacchio, Anthony C. Age 80 of Plantation Springs, Knoxville, TN, died at home Friday evening, November 7, 2003. Anthony was a member of All Saints Catholic Church. He was born and educated in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Edmund and Marie Nacchio.  He served in the US Coast Guard during WWII. Anthony then worked for Merck International. After his retirement he enjoyed sports, people, parties, and travel. He was a volunteer at Parkwest Hospital for 8 years, and was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #5207.  Anthony was preceded in death by Rita, his wife for 36 years. They were the parents of two surviving daughters Rita, (Rigi) Wells, wife of Larry Wells, and Antonia, (Toni) Atkins both residing in NJ. Also surviving with their parents are the grandchildren Casey and Jake Atkins, Nicholas, and Samantha Wells; wife, Veronica Govelitz Nacchio, with whom he lived in Lakewood, NJ before moving to Knoxville, TN 14 years ago; niece, Margaret Govelitz and her dauter, Anna Marie; cousin, Kate Hume all of Knoxville. Scanlan, Louise H. age 59 of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon formerly of Houston, TX and Hendersonville, TN, passed away Monday morning, November 17, 2003 at her home. She was of the Catholic Faith. Louise was an avid golfer and was Past President of the Ladies Golf Association in Tellico Village. She was preceded in death by her father, Herman Graham and mother, Alice. Kagley, Russell (Rusty) -age 31 of Knoxville, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away suddenly Sunday, November 16 in Oklahoma City. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and had served eight years in the United States Air Force. Following his discharge from the military, Rusty worked as an aircraft mechanic. Preceded in death by his fathers, Tom Kagley and David Hayes; grandparents, Elmer Harvey, James and Iva Kagley. Bragg, Margaret Ann age 72 of Farragut, TN, formerly of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, died Tuesday morning, November 18, 2003 at the home of her daughter.  Margaret was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church  in Ft. Walton Beach. She graduated with honors from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA. She was a LTJG in the U S Navy serving from 1953 to 1955. Margaret was active in the Republican party and was a very strong supporter of theater and arts, animal welfare, as well as, a board member of the USO, Head Start, and the Parish Council. Survivors: husband of 49 years, Leroy E. Bragg Jr. (Lt. Col. USAF, Ret.); daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Jim Yann of Farragut; grandchildren, Maureen, Katelyn, Jimmy and Patty Yann all of Farragut; brothers, William Ford Jr. and James Ford both of New Jersey; several nieces and nephews; devoted friends, Tom and Betsy McQuoid of Ormond Beach, FL, Roy and Nell Sheehan of Ft. Grubb, Mary (Billie) Hembree age 92of Lenoir City passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at River Oaks Place in Loudon.  Billie accepted Christ at an early age.  She was of the Cumberland Presbyterian Faith.  A native of the Wheat Community in Roane Co.. Graham, June Mead, age 82 of Lenoir City, passed away Friday, November 21, 2003, at the Parkwest Medical Center. June was a member and Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church in Lenoir City. She sang in the church choir and for the last ten years served as secretary for the church music department until retiring in February, 2003. June was a former employee of Dodson Tire Co. and Graham & Cook Insurance. She was a member of the Pilot Club in Lenoir City. Preceded in death by her husband, Howell M. Graham Sr.; parents, Arthur and Augusta Cleveland Mead; brothers, Arthur and Maurice Mead. Baxter, Duluth Tracy, age 82 of Farragut, formerly of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 23, 2003 at Parkwest Hospital.  Tracy was a devoted member of the West Knoxville Church of Christ.  He was retired from Union Carbide and Murray Manufacturing Co. both in Lawrence County.  Tracy enjoyed woodworking, his church and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Baxter and son, James L. Brackett, O'Dell Ellis - age 86 of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2003, at the Baptist West Hospital. Lowry, Don H., age 72, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Chicago, IL and Chattanooga, TN, passed away late Saturday evening, November 29, 2003 at his home. Don was born in LaFayette GA to the late Charles Marvin Lowry Sr. and Ruth Elizabeth (Bess) Lowry. He was retired as Vice President of Engineering from a division of Panasonic Television. Don was an avid golfer, motorcyclist, ham operator, and enjoyed working with electronics. He was a caring and kind person who was highly esteemed by his colleagues and friends. In addition to his parents Don was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth William Lowry. Survivors: wife of 48 years, Carol Walden Lowry; brother, Charles Marvin Lowry Jr of LaFayette, GA; sister, Suzanne Barnett of Hixson, TN; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bruce and Hilda Walden of Tallahassee, FL.
