Chuck was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #760 and worked as a journeyman electrician. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church in West Columbia, S.C. Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Mildred Fritts Long; sister, Judy Long Walsh. Harris McLain,
80, of Knoxville, TN passed away October 4, 2005 at Colonial Hills Nursing
Home. She was born in Newbern, TN to Porter McCorkle Harris and A. G.
Harris. Raised in Lake County TN, she graduated from Tiptonville High
School, Gulf Park College in Gulfport, MS and The University of Tennessee at
Knoxville, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She married
James L. McLain of Louisville, KY while both were at UT. Following
graduation, Virginia was a public school teacher until the birth of their
daughter, Ginny Lee McLain-Tate. Career opportunities took the family to
Memphis, Ridgely, and Chattanooga, TN; Connecticut; Michigan; and Monterrey,
Mexico before settling in Ventura, CA for the 18 years prior to them joining
their daughter in Knoxville seven years ago. Virginia lead an active life
which included volunteer work, Girl Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, and
a PEO member while in California. She served as an elder in the
Congregational Church in Connecticut and was a member of Cokesbury United
Methodist Church. She had a life-long love for coffee and conversation with
friends and was an avid bridge player. She leaves her devoted husband of 58
years, Jim, her daughter, Ginny, son-in-law Frank Tate of Knoxville, sister
Edie Harris Ford of Dyersburg, TN and several nieces and nephews. The family
will receive friends from 2 to 3pm Sunday with a memorial service at 3 p.m.

35, of Knoxville passed away Wednesday evening, October 5, 2005 at U T
Medical Center after a courageous nine year battle with leukemia. Sondra
was a member of Concord United Methodist Church and the Commitments Sunday
School Class. She was a graduate of Farragut High School and the University
of Tennessee. She is survived by her husband, Gary; daughter, Brittany
Rohrer; parents, Sam and Mary Ann Stone; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lisa
and Wayne Hastings, Michelle and Rodney Ruth all of Knoxville; many nieces
and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Sunday at
Concord United Methodist Church followed by funeral services at 3 p.m. with

Jerry Lynn - age 63 of Loudon,
passed away Friday, October 7, 2005, at his home. Jerry was of the Baptist
Faith. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force where he proudly served his
country and community in Vietnam. Jerry was president of Highland Park
Ruritan and a devoted Loudon Co. Bus Driver of Bus No. 10 for 20 years. He
enjoyed fishing, shooting pool and playing cards. He was preceded in death
by parents, Arthur and Arnetha Duggan; infant brothers, Billy Ray and Avery
Randolf Duggan; grandson, William Michael Duggan. Survived by wife,
Jeanette Deaton Duggan; sons: Robert (Bobby) Duggan and wife, Lisa, Barry

Kate was a member of West End Church of Christ in Knoxville and was very active until her health failed. She was a former volunteer at Park West Hospital. Grace Elizabeth Boring,
age 89, of Concord/Farragut passed away late Sunday evening, October 16,
2005 at Baptist Health Care Center. Grace was a graduate of Farragut High
School, Hiawassee College and earned her bachelors degree in education from
the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her first teaching assignment was at
Pine Valley School in Oak Ridge for three years during World War II. In
1936, Grace accepted a teaching position at Farragut, where she taught
fourth and fifth grades for 35 years. She was quoted as saying "She never
met a child she couldn't love". Grace was a life long member of Concord
United Methodist Church. She attended the Special Studies Sunday School
Class, as well as helping with the youth at the church. Grace was a member
of the DAR, a life member of Farragut PTA, the Farragut Folklife Museum,
She was an avid gardener, cook and was always caring and giving to others.
Her motto was " Work hard and play hard". Grace was preceded in death by her
loving husband of 57 years, Samuel Franklin Guinn Sr; parents, Frank Lee
Boring and Lula Miller Boring; brothers-in-law, Henry Guinn, Dr. James
Guinn, Ralph Guinn, Vernon Houser and Ray Guinn; sister-in-law, Marie Guinn;

age 66 of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon, TN, suddenly went home to
be with God on Sunday, October 16, 2005. He passed away doing what he loved
most, riding his motorcycle. Beloved of Carol; father of Gail Walker (Curt)
of Bartlett, IL, David Adamick (Kelly) of Plainfield, IL, Kathleen Adamick
of New York; loving grandfather of Lauren and Colton Adamick, Abigail and
Adam Walker; brother of Florence Hahn of Lakewood, CO, the late Eleanor
Lauer and Adeline Christ; uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Dick was a
retired policeman in Northbrook, IL where he received the Medal of Valor and
was a former barber. He was a member of Tellico Village Community Church,
Woodworker’s Club and Treasurer of Motorcycle Club. He participated in the
Loudon County Mentoring Program. He enjoyed the Walk\Talk Club and was an
avid traveler and photographer. A Celebration of Life Service will be held

Parris,
John E., Jr. - age 73 of Lenoir
City, passed away Saturday afternoon at his home. John was an active member
of First Baptist Church and the Adult Choir for the past 29 years and worked
with the Bed-Babies for 21 years. He previously served as a Deacon and
Sunday School Secretary. John also served as Minister of Music at First
Baptist Church in Riceville for 9 years and at Everett Road Baptist Church
for a short time. He served the Loudon County Rescue Squad for 40 years and
was the Chief for 31 years. He was an original member of the Loudon County
911 Board and served many years as the Chairman. On August 6, 2005, the
Loudon County Mayor, on behalf of the Loudon County Commission, presented
John with a Proclamation honoring him for his many years of service to the
Community and declared it “John Parris Day.” John sang in the Harmonizer
Quartet and sang on the Mull’s Singing Convention. He was awarded the “Lou
Witzeman” Award for Rural/Metro Corporation by Chief Jerry Harnish. He was
preceded in death by his parents, John E. Parris, Sr. and Maude Collins
Parris; brother Harold Parris; John is survived by his wife of 54 years,
Wanda “Tootie” Parris; 3 children, Kent “Lonzo” Parris of Whitleyville;

| Woodward, Wanda L.- age 76 of the Tellico Village Community, Loudon passed away Monday October 24, 2005 at Fort Loudoun Medical Center. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed golfing and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Woodward and grandson, Todd. Wanda is survived by her son, David and his wife, Susan and their children Lauren and Dane; daughter Lea Blood, husband, John and son Ethan. | Williams, Billy Ray - age 72 of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at Parkwest Medical Center. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Billy Ray was a member of the Tennessee National Guard for 34 years. He retired as a Warrant Officer. Preceded in death by parents, Clifford and Reba Ward Williams. - age 79 of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2005. He was a
member of First Baptist Church, Lenoir City. Retired from Liquid Carbonic
Corporation after 39 years service as Plant Manager. He was a veteran of W.
W. II serving in the U. S. Navy. Preceded in death by parents, Lawrence
Earl Branham and Velma Frances Williams Branham; sisters, Eileen Summers and
Virginia Jones; brothers, Robert Branham and Donnie Branham. Survived by
his wife of 56 years, Dolores Davis Branham; children, Connie Channell and

| McDaniel, Judith Kerley-Age 50 of Farragut passed away Monday morning, October 31, 2005 at Baptist Hospital West. She was the daughter of the late A.C. Kerley, Jr and was preceded in death by her daughter Jennifer Ashley. She is survived by her loving husband Gary of 25 years, son Steve, mother Leona Kerley, brother Alex Stanley and sister-in-law Cari Kerley and their sons Alex and Zachary. Gary's family includes his mother Wilma McDaniel of Phoenix, AZ, brothers and their wives, David and Sherry McDaniel of Phoenix, AZ, Alan and Jeanie McDaniel of Blacksburg, VA, and Paul and Denise McDaniel of Atlantic, IA. Judith was a dedicated leader in the Great Smoky Mountain Council of the Boy Scouts of America. She served as a Cub Scout Den Leader, Committee Chair of Boy Scout Troop 444 at Farragut Presbyterian Church while her husband was the scoutmaster, and as Cub Scout Advancement Chair for the council. She was active in numerous leadership positions for the Toqua District. Her love for Scouting included chairing Adult Educational programs for the council and those in other Southeastern states. The Council awarded her the District Award of Merit and the Silver Beaver for her years of service. Judi received her M.S. degree in Plant and Soil Science in 1981 from the University of Tennessee. Her M.S. thesis project was published in the international prestigious cell biology journal "Protoplasma." In 1982 she joined Dr. Bob Conger's program and took charge of main laboratory responsibilities. She was the lead technical person in two space shuttle experiments that lifted off in 1994 and 1998 (the latter was the John Glenn mission) to study the initiation and development of plant embryos. She was a competent and innovative molecular biologist. She was author or coauthor of 15 articles in refereed journals, proceedings of national and international symposia and congresses, and book chapters. She was also author or coauthor of 28 published abstracts, most of which she presented either orally or as posters at professional meetings. She worked with and helped many undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and visiting international scholars. She was a member of the American Society of Gravitational and Space Biology, Society for In Vitro Biology, Gamma Sigma Delta and Sigma Xi. She received the Sigma Xi award for Research Support Staff in 1988 and The University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture (UTIA) Award for Outstanding Service in 2001. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:45 p.m. Thursday at Farragut Presbyterian Church followed by a Memorial Service at 7 p.m. with Rev. Thom Nelson officiating.
