Joseph (Joe) Palladino, age 94 of East Boston, MA, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2006 in Knoxville, TN. Joe was former Commodore of Orient Heights Yacht Club in East Boston. William (Bill) Dooley Goodwin, age 84 of Lenoir City, passed away Monday, September 11, 2006.  Bill was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for over 60 years.  He retired from Lenoir Car Works, and was an avid woodworker and craftsman.  Bill was preceded in death by parents, Samuel and Thaisa Goodwin; sisters Elsie Rhea Green, Iva Fine, Mary Garrett and Ruby Lee Bennett.  He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jerry Allison Goodwin; children, Nancy Goodwin of Knoxville, Billie Gammell and husband, William of Olive Branch, MS, Terry Goodwin and wife, Susan of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Jennifer and Ashton Roberts of Johnson City, Kala Goodwin and Brent Goodwin of Lenoir City; brother, Roy Goodwin and wife, Midge; sisters, Ava Arp and husband, Kermit, Betty Dunlap all of Lenoir City, Samye Sims of Knoxville; many nieces and nephews.  The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Tuesday with funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sue Gragg Stewart, age 76 of Kingston, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2006.  Sue was a graduate of Oak Ridge High School.  She was an animal lover, active with the Best Friends of Utah and the local humane society along with various other animal rights organizations.  Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Stewart; parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Gragg and brother, Howard W. Gragg.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Sharon Stewart of Brandon, FL; sister, Dorothy Gragg Hanna of Kingston; brother, Donald B. Kenneth Maurice Flynn, age 69 of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2006.  Ken was employed by the City of Knoxville, Codes Enforcement Director for 30 years. He was a former White House Policeman and retired from Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC.  Ken was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Lenoir City.  He was preceded in death by father, Billy Joe Flynn.  Survived by his wife, Pauline (Polly) Flynn of Lenoir City; sons, Kenneth M. John D. Morgan, age 75 of Niota, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2006 in Sweetwater.  John was a member of North Sweetwater Baptist Church and a former member of South East Baptist Church in Lenoir City.  He served in the U. S. Army Air Force and was a member of the American Legion, VFW and Masonic Lodge in Texas.  John was a retired mechanic.  He was preceded in death by parents; several brothers and sisters.  Survived by his wife of 8 years, Hattie (Ann) Morgan; children, Alice Faye Dorman of Jackson, MS and David Morgan of Jackson, MS; stepchildren, Jerry Klipstine of Dallas, TX, Mary Ann Kennedy of Montana, Ricky Weaver of Carlsbad, NM, Dee Renner of Niota, Brenda Watkins of Kingman, AZ and Tammy Ray of Madisonville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Leona Watkins of Washington State; many nieces and nephews.  Family and friends will gather at 3 p.m. Saturday at Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Sweetwater for graveside services with Rev. Fred W. Jones, age 71, of Farragut, passed away Monday morning, September 18, at his home after a brief illness. Fred was a long-time resident of the Town of Farragut and had served on the Farragut Metropolitan Planning Commission since 1985.  He served as alderman from 1983 to 1985. Fred was appointed to serve on the Development Process Review Committee in 2005 and also served on a committee of the Planning Commission which was instrumental in developing the information for the Town’s Ordinance establishing Aquatic Buffer Zones along the town’s creeks. He retired from Lockheed Martin Energy Systems, Y-12 Plant, where he had a distinguished career. He was named Corporate Fellow in 1988 in recognition of major technical accomplishments in the development and implementation of revolutionary advancements in manufacturing technology for nuclear weapons. Fred led the development and implementation of numerical control precision machining and gauging at the Y-12 Plant to obtain revolutionary advances in accuracy. He was instrumental in establishing the manufacturing technology modernization program to revitalize Y-12’s manufacturing capabilities. Fred led Y-12’s early initiative to open Y-12 for technology transfer and cooperative initiatives by working with the private sector. Since his retirement, he has been a consultant with Pro2Serve in Oak Ridge. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering, and was a registered Professional Engineer for the State of Tennessee. Fred had a great interest in anything mechanical and was an accomplished craftsman. His children and granddaughters, who called him “BaBa,” were the joys of his life. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Fred was born in Bessemer, AL, to Fred S. Jones and Vera Webster Jones, who preceded him in death. He is survived by: daughters, Susan Johnson, husband, Randy, and their daughter, Alison; Diane (DeeDee) Herbert, husband, Jerry, and their daughters, Abbie and Emily; sons Richard Jones and Mark Jones; brother, Robert Jones and wife, Vicki; sister, Virginia Monger of Lenoir City; niece, Joanie Eiffe and husband, Mike, and their children, Jennifer and Chas, of Knoxville; nephews, Jeffrey and Keith of Lenoir City, Hugh Curtis Monger, wife, Sue Ann, and their children, Ginny and Sam, of Las Cruces, New Mexico; and special friend, Jeanne Draughn. His ex-wife, Sue M. Jones, mother of his children, also survives him. O. Jean Kidder, of Easton, CT, died Saturday morning, September 16, 2006 in Knoxville, TN. Robert J. (Bob) Sneden, April 11, 1934- September 17, 2006, of the Tellico Village Community in Loudon, TN passed away in Knoxville, TN at the Parkwest Medical Center following a brief illness. Bob formerly resided in Grand Rapids, MI before retiring to Tennessee. He graduated from Columbia High in Maplewood, NJ and Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Bob served in the United States Army and spent his career working for Johnson & Johnson. He was a member of the Tellico Village Community Church, where he sang in the church choir and was an avid golfer and traveler. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn and Walter Sneden. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann Hopper Sneden; children: John and Beth Sneden of Stillwater, MN, Donna and Tom Patch of Denver, CO, Chris and Carol Sneden of Stillwater, MN, Bill and Crystal Sneden of Knoxville; 11 grandchildren; brother, Richard Sneden and wife, Mina of Lyndeborough, MA, along with several nieces and nephews. Thomas Owen Patten, age 72 of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Charlotte, N C, passed away Friday, September 22, 2006 at his home. Tom was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard serving during the Korean War. He was the past President of the Textile Fibers and By Products Association and the Charlotte Textile Fibers and By Products Club. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Louise Patten. Frank L. Hamm Jr., age 54 of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday evening, September 30, 2006, at his home. Frank was a Christian and loved the Lord. He was a retired truck driver and avid woodworker. Conley Smith, age 82, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Monroe, MI, slipped away from his home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 29, 2006. Conley was born in Speedwell, TN on February 14, 1924.  He served in the CCC of TN as a young man. He was a long-time member of Evergreen Acres Missionary Baptist Church, Monroe, MI.  Conley was employed by Consolidated Paper Company, Monroe, MI for 30 years, retiring from Jefferson Smurfit Packaging Company in 1984. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Lillie Leach Smith; two brothers Lonnie, Jr. and Hobert Smith; two sisters, Juanita and Dorothy Smith. In passing, Conley leaves to celebrate his wonderful life his wife of 46 years, Kathleen Owens Smith; two daughters, Vicki Lynne Callahan and husband, Brad, Brenda Lee Smith; three Grandchildren, Clint and Jessica Callhan and Lillie Grace Smith, all of Knoxville; two sisters, Edna (Ernest) Manning, Mary Shields; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Dorsia Owens; sister-in-Law, Bonnie Smith; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Pat and John Lawson, Hesper and Margaret Owens, Carl and Linda Owens all of Monroe, MI; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and many beloved friends.
