Sharp,
Jerry Lynn age 61 of Knoxville, passed away suddenly Sunday morning
April 1, 2001 in an automobile accident while on his way to church. Jerry
was a member of Everett Road Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U. S.
Army. Jerry was an avid sportsman and played football at Texas Tech. He
was preceded in death by parents, Roy Sharp and Edith Turner Sharp Cole.
Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, Rory and Debra Sharp, Roman and
Sarah Sharp; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Mark Napier all of
Knoxville; grandchildren, Rowan Sharp, Heather Sharp, Kate Greene, Lauren
Sharp, Nicholas Napier, Beth Hamilton, Cory Anderson and Becka Myers. The
family will receive friends from 6-7:45 p.m. Tuesday followed by funeral

| Catherine Smythe Huheey,
age 93, born February 4, 1908 in Greencastle, Putnam County, Indiana. Died
at her residence April 4, 2001 in Lenoir City, Tennessee. Graduated from
Batavia High School, attended Brown County Normal School, and started
teaching at age 18 at Cherry Grove School in Anderson Township,
Cincinnati, OH. In 1941 she earned a bachelors degree from the University
of Cincinnati, and in 1962 received her Masters in Education from Miami
University. She taught in the West Clermont Schools for 35 years. She
taught at Mt. Carmel–Glen Este School for many years before becoming an
assistant principal at Mt. Carmel and Summerside Schools and then
principal at Mt. Carmel for three years. She was named the first principal
of Brantner Elementary School when it was built, and retired in 1976 after
13 years of service at Brantner. In 1955 she was elected to membership in
the Alpha Chi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, an honor society for women
educators. She lived in Glen Este for 82 years, and moved to Tennessee in
1994. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Edward O.
Huheey; her parents Harry B. Smythe and Susan Kessinger Smythe; her
brothers Royal B. and Allen K. Smythe; and two great-granddaughters,
Valerie Ballard and Brittany Ballard. She is survived by a sister and
brother-in-law, Sue and Richard Goller of San Diego, CA; sister-in-law
Sarah Huheey Galbraith of Tallahassee, FL; son James E. Huheey of Lenoir
City, TN; daughter and son-in-law Catherine and Terrence Donaldson of
Lenoir City, TN; granddaughters Stephanie Donaldson Hodnett and Hope
Donaldson Ballard; grandsons-in-law Jeff Hodnett and Berlin Ballard; five
great-grandchildren: Jordan, Jessie, and Jacob Hodnett; and Gregory and
Brianna Ballard; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

| Gilbert, Anna Kimbrough
- age 95 of Lenoir City, passed away early Sunday morning, April 8, 2001
at the Farragut Health Care Center. Anna was a member of First Baptist
Church in Lenoir City where she was a Sunday School teacher for over fifty
years and active with Senior Adults, along with other church activities. A
member of the Order of Eastern Star Lenoir City Chapter #188.Anna was born
January 31, 1906 in Ocoee, Tn. where she finished grade school. She was a
graduate and valedictorian of Polk Co. High School. She later attended
East Tennessee State University. Anna taught school in several TVA
villages where her husband worked. She was always busy in clubs, schools
and community activities. She was preceded in death by her husband,
B.W. Gilbert; parents, Ira T. and Elizabeth Broyles Kimbrough; brother,
Ray L. Kimbrough; sister, Arlene Kimbrough McClary. Survived by her
two sons: Col. John A. Gilbert and wife Nancy of Ft. Worth, Tx. and Ira D.
( Max) Gilbert and wife Joy of Lenoir City; three grandaughters: Pam
Gilbert Shaver and husband Mark of Lenoir City, Peggy Gilbert Boatman and

Conley, age 76 of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday evening April 10,
2001, at the Duke University Medical Center in Durham NC. Nathan was born
September 9, 1924 in Stewart County Tennessee to William Conley Crutcher
and Mattie Lou Wiggins Crutcher He was a member and Deacon of Pleasant
Hill Baptist Church. Nathan was retired from Martin Marietta K-25 plant
with 42 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents;
brother, Robert Loyd Crutcher and sister, Velma Marie Crutcher Watson.
Survivors: wife of 45 years, Bobbye Mallory Crutcher; daughter and
son-in-law, Jan and Keith McCollum of Fountain City; son and

97 of Lenoir City passed away Sunday, April 15, 2001 at the Baptist Health
Care Center. She was born on April 15, 1904 in Armaithwait, TN. and was
the daughter of the late James T. and Belle Brooks Buck. They moved from
Armaithwait, Fentress Co., near Rugby to Lenoir City in the early 1920's.
She last worked as a secretary for the Little Creek Sanitarium, North
Shore Drive, Knoxville. Nellie was preceded in death by her brother,
Desmond Buck; and sister, Imogene Buck Gossage. She was a member of the
Seventh- Day Adventist Church of Lenoir City. She is survived by sister,
Inez Buck Julian of Loudon; sister-in-law, Sue Davis Buck of Kettering,
OH.; nephew and caretaker, Lee Gossage and wife, Marjorie of Knoxville;
nephews, Jim Gossage and wife, Betty of Lenoir City; Bud Julian and wife,

73 of West Knoxville, passed away early Saturday morning, April 21, 2001.
Ruby was a member of Hines Valley Baptist Church. She was a wonderful
mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors: daughters and
sons-in-law, Darlene and Donald Townsend with whom she made her home,
Debra and Dewayne Isbell of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Stacey Jones and
husband, Rev. Randall Jones, Daniel Townsend Sr. and wife Debra, Amanda
Elliott and Matthew Isbell all of Lenoir City; great grandchildren, Daniel
Townsend Jr., Rachel Jones and Tyler Montgomery; several nieces and

(Walt) age 91 of Lenoir City, passed away Friday afternoon, April 20,
2001, at Loudon Hospital. Walt was a veteran of World War I serving with
the Navy. He was retired from Union Carbide in Oak Ridge. Walt was a
loving and caring father. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alvin L.
Bushnell; daughter, Betty Royal. Survivors: Nora McNabb Bushnell;
children, Jacqueline Tyson of Pensacola FL, Jimmy C. Bushnell of Las Vegas

Sidney Boyd (Sean) age 31 of the Dogwood Community Kingston, passed away
suddenly Saturday morning, April 21, 2001 in a motorcycle accident. Sidney
was an employee of G Force Fabrication. He was an avid sportsman and

Smith, Hubert Hickman "Doc" age
89 of Lenoir City, passed away at Park West Hospital on Monday, April 23. He was born in Lenoir City on December 3, 1911. He belonged to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lenoir City where he served as deacon, elder, trustee, and choir director for many years. He was a past member of the Lion's Club of Lenoir City and the early Lenoir City Flying Club. He was a self-taught composer of gospel music and teacher of rudiments (shaped notes). Among his published songs, the most well-known is "My Lord Keeps a Record," published in 1945. He founded and was a member of the Sacred Singers Gospel Quartet. He was a tail-dragger pilot and part owner of a J-5 Cub. Some of his interests were Latin, sign language, electronics, and operating a "ham" radio. He retired from Charles H. Bacon Company and Yale and Towne Lock Company, and was a licensed insurance adjuster. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa Belle and Elmer Joseph Smith, Sr.; two brothers, Leonard Ray and Elmer "E. J." Joseph Smith, Jr., and one grandson, Douglas Allan Dean. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Stewart Smith; two daughters, Patricia Gail Needham of Knoxville, and Beverly Dean and son-in-law, Dr. Roger Dean of Morgantown, Indiana; three grandsons, Brian Stewart Dean of Garland, Texas, Richard Henri "Brando" Marius of Murfreesboro, Tn., and Frederick Stewart Marius, wife, Susan, and great grandchildren, Ellen Patricia and Henri Richard Marius, of Winchester, Mass. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:45 p.m. Wednesday with funeral services to follow at 8 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Phillips officiating. Frye, age 63 of Concord passed away Thursday evening April 26, 2001 at
the Parkwest Medical Center. She recently attended Grace Fellowship Church
in Lenoir City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Jencie
Frye; brother, H.C. Frye and several other brothers and sisters. She Is
survived by her husband of 44 years, Elmer L. Pearson; children, Lewis
Pearson and wife Sue of Kodak; David Pearson of Farragut; Lynn Pearson of
Memphis; Jessica Stubbs and husband Jeff of Knoxville; Jennifer Pearson of
Knoxville; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; numerous nieces,
