Retired from Charles H. Bacon Hosiery Mill. A member of the Coon Hunters Association. A veteran of W. W. II serving in the U. S. Navy. Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Laura Brown; several brothers. She was retired from Yale and Towne. Dee was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Hayworth and son, Johnny Hayworth. Survivors: Daughter, Helen Smallen of Lenoir City. son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Linda Hayworth of Burleson Texas. | Childers, Martha Barron ( Chichi) age 92 of Concord passed away November 1, 1999 in Alexandria Virginia. Chichi was a resident of Concord from 1939 until moving to Alexandria in 1984. She was retired from Standard Knitting Mill after 29 years of service. A member of First Baptist Church of Concord. She was preceded in death by husband, Robert L. Childers. age 79 of Harriman, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away suddenly Saturday
evening November 6, 19 99 at Park West
Hospital. Jack was retired from
Martin Marietta K-25 with 41 years of service as a machinist. He was a
veteran of World War II serving with the Army in Europe and was in the
Battle of the Bulge. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Homer
Jackson Brannon and Laura Octavia Marshall Brannon. Sisters, Vestal Sharp
and Evelyn Anderson. Survivors: Daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Joe
Burnett of Oak Ridge, Rose Ann and Michael Melson of Lenoir City. Sons and

Price, Rosalie Bengel, age
94 of Lenoir City passed away Monday morning November 8, 1999 at her home.
Rosalie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lenoir City and the
Loudon County Retired Teachers Association. A graduate of Cumberland
University, where she met her husband, Lee D. Price. She taught English
and was Librarian at Loudon High School from 1942 thru 1948. She
transferred to Lenoir City High School and was librarian there until her
retirement in 1970. Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband in 1992
and sister, Lena Palmer. Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and
Elma Price of Kingston, Dr. James and Norma Price of Greensboro Georgia. 4
grandchildren. 9 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from
7-8 P.M. Thursday followed by funeral services at 8 P.M. in the Click

U. T. Medical Center. He was a member and deacon of Cedar Springs
Presbyterian Church in Knoxville. He and his twin brother, Randall, owned
and operated Lange Animal Hospital of Knoxville. Board chairman of New
Life Inc. Preceded in death by his father, Franklin Lange. Survived by his
wife Frances Vasey Lange; 2 daughters, Megan age 8 and Rikki age 5;
mother, Shirley Lange of Lenoir City; grandmother, Carrie Mathisen of Elk

Howell, Elizabeth
Oates, age 94 of Lenoir City Tn., formerly of Gastonia North Carolina,
passed away early Monday morning November 22, 1999 at Loudon Hospital.
Elizabeth was a member of Lenoir City Cumberland Presbyterian Church and
the Cumberland Presbyterian Women. She was preceded in death by her
husband of 69 years, Henry Grady Howell. She was preceded in death by her
parents, John and Mary Jane Oates, and was the last of their 12 children.
Survivors: Daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Randall Burris of Lenoir
City. Grandchildren, Jacob and Lynn Burris, Benjamin Burris, Jordan

Sexton, James David
Ph.D., age 51 of Lenoir City Tennessee passed away suddenly early
Saturday morning November 20, 1999 at his home in New Orleans Louisiana.
Dr. Sexton was a Professor of Interdisciplinary Human Studies at Louisiana
State University Health Sciences Center. He had been a resident of New
Orleans since 1981. A former Chair of the Department of Special Education
and Habilitative Services at the University of New Orleans, he receive his
doctoral degree in Child and Family Studies at the University of
Tennessee, Knoxville. He was President of the International Division for
Early Childhood and was active in many state and national initiatives to
enhance services and supports provided to young children with disabilities
and their families. Dr. Sexton served as Co-Director of the Early
Intervention Institute, taught students from a variety of disciplines,
conducted research, and directed collaborative efforts with other
universities. Dr. Sexton was widely renown for his scholarly publications
and exceptional leadership qualities. He was a member of Highland Park
Baptist Church in Lenoir City. Dr. Sexton attended Lenoir City Schools. A
veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving with the Army. Survivors: Mother,
Mary Nell Sexton of Lenoir City. Father, James Earl Sexton of Morristown

Pardue, Marjorie Pearl,
age 78 of Farragut Tennessee passed away Wednesday morning November 24,
1999 at Park West Hospital. Marjorie was a member of Inskip United
Methodist Church. A avid quilter, artist and enjoyed crocheting. Marjorie
was a devoted wife and mother. She was preceded in death by parents, Azell
and Louvadia Wilcox. Sister, Delcie Kerney all of Glascow Kentucky.
Survivors: Husband, Rev. Robert Pardue of Farragut. Sons and
daughters-in-law, Douglas and Sarah Pardue of Prentiss Miss., Rodney and
Sherri Pardue of Knoxville, Eugene and Sandy Monroe of Louisville
Kentucky, Jimmy and Edna Monroe of Louisville Kentucky. Granddaughters,
Pam Weddington, Renee, Stacy and Tina Monroe. Sisters and brothers-in-law,
Dorothy Boles of Indianapolis Indiana, Gladys Cox of Tucson Arizona, Ruth
Gooch of Indianapolis Indiana, Lucille Tweedy of Jeffersonville Indiana,
Mary and Ron Balay of Jeffersonville Indiana, Cledith and Richard Hodgin
of Las Cruces New Mexico. Brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Flonell

services to follow at 5 P.M. Rev. Hubert Diggs, Dr. William H. Balch and
Rev. David Lawrence officiating. Family and friends will gather at 11 A.M.

Bridges, Christel
Smith, Age 69 of Lenoir City passed away
Wednesday evening November 24, 1999 at the home of her daughter. Christel
was a member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church. She was retired from Levi
Strauss in Knoxville with 28 years of service. Christel was preceded in
death by the father of her children, Wayne E. Smith. Survivors: Daughters
and sons-in-law, Wanda and Jay Kelley of Lenoir City, Shirley and Junior
Smith of Pikeville, Pat and James Lane of Lenoir City. Step sons, Eddie
Wayne Smith and wife Lisa , Danny Ray Smith and Boyd Dewayne Smith all of
Lenoir City. 7 Grandchildren. 12 Great Grandchildren. 2 Great Great
Grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services 2 P.M.
Saturday Click Funeral Home Chapel Rev. George Seay officiating. Interment
