He was a retired custodian with Lenoir City schools. Booge was a veteran of WWII serving in the U. S. Army as a mechanical instructor. Russell, Fred Freeman - age 84 of Loudon, passed away suddenly Saturday evening February 17, 2001 at his home. Freeman was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Loudon and had been attending Loudon United Methodist Church and the Mens Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WW II. A former guard with TVA and former sheriff of Loudon County serving during 1954-1958 and 1968-1974. He oversaw many famous cases and was often pictured in newspapers and written about in detective magazines. A member of Tennessee Masonic Lodge 204, York & Scottish Rites, Kerbela Temple, Lions Club, American Legion Post 120 and VFW Post 5150 and the Republican Party. He was preceded in death by his son, Freeman Ralphard Russell; parents, John M. and Sarah Rhynes Russell; grandson, Robert Russell Collins; brothers: John B. Sefic, John Douglas (Doug) age 33 of Knoxville, Tennessee, formerly of Lancaster California, passed away suddenly early Sunday morning, February 18, 2001, in an automobile accident while driving his beloved Porsche. Doug attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City, TN and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lancaster, CA. He was a graduate of Quartz Hill High School in Quartz Hill, CA. Doug served with the U.S. Army Airborne Division in Fort Bragg for four years. He was a member of the Porsche Club of America and the Auto Cross Racing Club. Doug loved water skiing, snow skiing and was interested in radio controlled cars. He was preceded in death by his sister, Annette Elizabeth Sefic; grandfather Paul V. Snodderly, Ruth Greenway age 77 of Lenoir City passed away Monday evening, February 19, 2001 at the Loudon Health Care Center. Ruth was a member of First Baptist Church in Lenoir City. She was a faithful pastor’s wife and was very active in the churches where her husband, Rev. Effert Snodderly pastored. Ruth led Acteens, G. A.’s and was a Sunday School Teacher. She was a graduate of Carson Newman College. She had taught Fifth Grade in the North Carolina School System for 19 years. Ruth was very active in the Women’s Missionary Organization. Her interests were in her family and her church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Lula Greenway; and sister, Marie Pickard. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Rev. Effert Snodderly; sons, Norman Snodderly & wife, Belinda of Concord, N.C., and Michael E. Snodderly & wife, Patricia of Morristown, TN.; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchildren; brother, Howard Greenway of New Ellington, S. C.; and several nieces & nephews. Grace Hanson Davis, 86, died February 21 in Knoxville, TN. Born in Rye, NH on July 16, 1914, she was the daughter of Capt. Christopher and Grace (Wright) Hanson. She was a graduate of Washington Academy, Washington State Normal School and later received a degree from the University of Maine at Machias. Grace was an elementary school teacher for many years. She was a devoted member of the First Congregational Church of Machiasport, Life Member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Maine Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma Society and a charter member of the Machiasport Historical Society. She is survived by her daughter Anne and husband Frank Haseltine of Knoxville, TN; daughter-in-law Bettina Davis of Machiasport; grandsons James and wife Amy Haseltine of Omaha, NE and Eric Haseltine of Knoxville, TN; one great- grandson Skyler Haseltine. Also brother-in-law Jay Davis of Cutler; sisters- in -law, Elizabeth Small of Hollis and Laura Reed and husband Charles of Bradenton, FL;as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband James and their son Walton; sisters, Laura Hanson and Gladys Ingalls and a brother Howard Hanson. Farmer, John Edward, age 70, of Greenback, passed away Wednesday morning, February 28, 2001, at U.T. Medical Center.  John was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.  He served in the U.S. Navy, Marines, and was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Army.  He retired from the Air Force, last serving at McGee Tyson Air Base.  He was a member of Kerbela Temple and a Mason.  John operated John Farmer Sales, Antiques and Collectibles.  He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lena Farmer, and brother, Gene Farmer.   Survived by his wife, Mary E. Farmer; daughter Carol Farmer Long of Greenback; son and daughter-in-law, Joey and Robin Farmer of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Megan Long, Cody, Morgan and Dylan Farmer; sisters, Martha Kimsey of Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga., and Lucille Helmachi of Knoxville; brothers, R.B.
