Liles, age 85 of Knoxville, formerly of
Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2001 at her home. She
was a member of Stock Creek Baptist Church. A longtime nurse for Dr.
Gammon in Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Raymond Hinkle; son, George Hinkle; brother, Clint Liles; sisters:
Verna and Tennie Scarbrough, Nell Stapp and Willie Cate. Survived by
children, David Hinkle and wife, Mary of Knoxville, Dennis Hinkle
and wife, Peggy of Maryville, Carolyn Hinkle of Knoxville; 7
grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brothers, Walter Herbert
Liles of Spring City, Sanders Liles Jr. of Lenoir City; sister,
Margaret McNabb of Spartanburg, SC; several nieces and nephews. The

Wells, Robert Gene age 86 of Farragut, formerly of Oak Ridge and Mt. View California, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2001 at Shannondale Health Care Center. Gene was a member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. He was a charter member of the United Church of Oak Ridge and the Lenoir City-Tellico Rotary Club. Gene was a member of Promise Keepers and Gideon International. He was among the first recruits for Oak Ridge, the first to move in and was co-founder of the 43 Club. Survivors: wife of 64 years, Virginia Mettetal Wells; daughters and sons-in-law, Emily and Jerry Vreeland of Knoxville, Carolyn and Dick Allen of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Leigh Davidson Seaman and husband Matt of Knoxville, TN, Patrick E. Stiles, Audra Fox age 85 of the Solway Community, Knoxville, passed away early Thursday morning October 4, 2001, at her home. Audra was a member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene (Gene) Stiles; parents, L. J. Fox and Lettie Sellers Fox; sisters, Clara Gray, Martha Kilby, Adra Hamilton and Wilma Webber; brother, Bud Fox; son-in-law, Fred Burnette. RAY, DORIS GWINN age 77 of Knoxville passed away Wednesday morning October
3, 2001, at Parkwest Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Her passions included her family,
music, wildflowers and the Smoky Mountains. After her diagnosis, Doris became extremely involved in helping others
through cancer support groups on the Internet. She was also an avid square
dancer, and helped with her husband to organize the Ten Mile Twirlers Square
Dance Club. Doris was retired from McNutt Brown Service where she served as
bookkeeper. Prior to that she owned her own secretarial service in West Knoxville. Doris was a member of Second Presbyterian Church. She was
preceded in death by: her parents, Basil H. Gwinn and Grace Smith Gwinn; brothers Lawrence Gwinn, Charles Gwinn, and Ernest Gwinn. Survived by:
husband of 49 years, Robert Bruce Ray; daughters, Roberta Ray of Seattle, WA, Mary Ruth Ray of Boston, MA; son, Bill Ray of Nashville;

- age 93 of Lenoir City, passed away Sunday morning, October 7, 2001. Anna was reared in the Methodist Church and later joined the Baptist Church with her husband. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Perkey and her parents, James F. and Elizabeth Killan Climer, three sisters and two brothers. She was the last surviving child in her family. Mary Evelyn Lovelace, Age 73 of 13112 Lovelace Road, Knoxville,
went home to heaven Friday, October 19, 2001. Evelyn’s life long
love for music began at an early age. She was a pianist at Mt.
Pleasant Baptist Church at Hickory Creek at the age of 8 years old.
She was very active with different musical groups playing piano at
Hardin Valley Fire Hall, Arbor Terrace assisted living, Rocky Branch
Community Center and local nursing homes, as well as numerous
weddings and funerals. She was currently the pianist at Silver Ridge
Baptist Church since 1985, also serving as youth choir pianist.
Evelyn was retired from Scovill Manufacturing Co. And ORGDP K-25.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil B. and Ollie Mae
Lovelace and brother James V. Lovelace. She is survived by daughters
and their husbands, Charlotte (Peanut) and Jack Schaefer, Sherry and
Lewis Hall and Lisa Davis and Darrell Barnett; sons, Stanley Davis,
Mike and wife Carolyn Davis, and Richard (Ricky) Davis; sisters,
Nora Jane Hudson, Barbara Ann and husband Arlen Hackett of
Vancouver, Wash; brother, Frank and wife Iva Lovelace;
grandchildren, Jimmy Owens, Crystal Wilkerson, Tracy Schaefer,
Steven Davis and wife Misty, Justin Davis, Mindy Davis, Casey Davis,

Krausser, Flo Mabelle (Cottrell) age 69 of Lenoir City, TN., formerly of Lindenhurst, IL and Salem, WI., passed away Wednesday, October 17,2001 at the Farragut Health Care Center in Knoxville, TN. She was of the Methodist Faith. Flo was retired from The College of Lake County in Grayslake, Illinois. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Tennessee where she worked part time at The Fresh Market in Farragut. She loved to play Bingo with her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Hugh Barnette and Velma Hayes Cottrell. Joe H. Age 83 of the Cave Creek Community, Roane County, passed

Center. Joe was a member of the Cave Creek Baptist Church and was a
veteran of WW II serving in the Army. He was founder of First
National Siding and Roofing and operated the business until his
retirement. He was founder of Smith Insulation. Joe was preceded in
death by his parents, Charles and Lucy Smith; wife Nancy McNabb
Smith; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by sons, Bobby Smith
of Roane County, Charles Smith and wife Pat of Lenoir City.

| Saeger, Jeff Clifton Sr. age 82 of Harlingen Texas, formerly of Lenoir City, passed away suddenly Sunday evening October 21, 2001 at his home. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lombes Texas. Retired from Hygeia Dairy Company as a plant manager. Survivors: wife, Ethel Mae Gooch Saeger; son, Jeff Saeger Jr. of Katy Texas; daughter, Ruth Ann Saeger of Harlingen Texas; 4 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; sister, Wilma Hill of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews; Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lenoir City Cemetery for graveside services with Mr. Don Gooch officiating. age 89 of Farragut, TN, formerly of Mesa, AZ, passed away Tuesday evening, October 23, 2001, at NHC Cavett Hill in Farragut. She attended the Lydia Circle of Concord United Methodist Church. Beulah was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Matthew Barrick; parents, Jess Garfield Harris and Margaret White Harris; sisters, Ethel Beman, Zelma Johnston; brothers, Herschel Harris and Leonard Harris; survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Albert Zimbrich of Farragut, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Wendy Barrick of Silver Springs, MD; grandchildren, Debbie Green, Denise Webb and husband Dan, Sandy Hazelwood and husband Jeff, Robert Zimbrich and wife Cindy all of Knoxville, TN, Todd Barrick of Silver Springs, MD, Andy Barrick of Saratoga Springs, NY; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Lucy Llywelyn of Rialto, CA; sisters-in-law, Tacy Harris of Eureka, CA, Nicky Harris of Paradise, CA; brother-in-law, Ran Johnston of Amarillo, TX; several nieces and nephews. Baldani, Phyllis Jean age 70 (308 Tanasi Point) Tellico Village Community, Loudon, Tennessee passed away, Tuesday, October 23, 2001. She was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and graduated from the Rhode Island College of Education. She lived in Greencastle, Pennsylvania, Big Flats, New York, Harrodsburg, Kentucky, and Corning, New York prior to moving to Tennessee. Phyllis loved to travel and was an avid gourmet cook. She attended cooking schools in Florence, Italy, Bangkok, Thailand, Santa Fe, New Mexico and at The Greenbrier in West Virginia and traveled extensively in Mexico and Europe. Her gourmet dinners were a feature item at the annual auction in support of the Tellico Village Library. Among her joys was her special affection for her cats. Phyllis was a loving, and beloved, wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Robert E. Baldani; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey Baldani and Ulla Grapard of Hamilton, New York, Russell and Julie Baldani of Lexington, Kentucky; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathleen and Kenneth Terry of Lexington, Kentucky, Lisa and Michael Hansel of Newport, Rhode Island, Roslyn and Kevin Jones of Lexington, Kentucky; grandchildren, Luke Baldani, Christopher Baldani, Shannon and Ryan Terry, Casey and Amanda Hansel, and Jessica Jones. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Helena Flanagan. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. A Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 12 noon at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City where she was a member. Father Steve LaPrad of St. Thomas's and Phyllis' nephew, Father Peter Cameron will conduct the service. Burial will be a private family service which will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Blue Grass Memorial Gardens in Lexington, Kentucky. A. - age 75 of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday evening, October 27, 2001 at his home. Jesse went to his heavenly home just a few hours before his 76th birthday. He was the former co- owner and operator of Quality Printers in Lenoir City. A veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy. A member of the Highland Park Ruitan Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otha and Lillie Hale Gardner; brothers, Gene and Edward Gardner; sisters: Maggie and Lillian Collins, Dot Fine, Loma Bales and Lois Rapier; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy and Laura Spoon. Jesse is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Spoon Gardner; brother, Sam Gardner and wife Norma of Lenoir City; sister, Polly Grubb of Knoxville; sisters-in-law: Juanita Gardner, Linda Gardner, Kathleen Hartline and husband, Cecil all of Lenoir City, Louise Dills of Franklin, N.C.; brother-in-law, Glen Spoon of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-7:45 p.m. Monday, followed by funeral services at 8 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Chapel. Rev Eddie Click will officiate. age 81 of Lenoir City, passed away Tuesday morning, October 30, 2001 at the Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. Jack was a member of First Baptist Church in Lenoir City. He was retired from the DOE AEC as a Quality Assurance Inspector at Y-12. A 50 year member of Avery Lodge 593 F & AM and Scottish Rite. Jack was a veteran of W. W. II where he served in the Army Air Corp. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles A. and Elizabeth Bogart Miller; special cousin, Peggy Lacy. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Lou White Miller; daughters, Karen Lane and husband, Randy of Lenoir City, Kemberly Phillips and husband, Gary of Wartburg; grandchildren, Stacy Hawkins Roberts and husband, David of Lenoir City, Jimmy Hawkins and wife, Lisa of Philadelphia, Malinda Ferguson and husband, Aaron of Knoxville, Nicole Phillips of Wartburg, Shawn Phillips and wife, Nellie of Wartburg, Monica Brown and husband, Dale of Clinton, Randy Lane Jr. and wife, Susanne of Knoxville, Travis Lane of Seymour; great grandchildren: Phillip Hawkins- Roberts, Jacob & Jonathon Hawkins, Amanda, Chase & Caleb Ferguson, Scottie, Rusty & Kristie Phillips and Justin Brown.
