
Charles E. “Buddy” Rogers, age 77 of Lenoir City went to his Heavenly home on May 3, 2017 while surrounded by his family. Buddy fought a valiant and brave battle with cancer. He was well known and loved as the general manager of Pilot in Lenoir City for 57 years and was an avid Vols fan. Buddy was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a member of Avery Masonic Lodge #593 F & AM and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite. Buddy was a member and Deacon of Calvary Baptist Church in Lenoir City. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Annie Rogers; sisters, Betty Ann Rogers, Judy Lindsay; twins, Ray Eugene Rogers and Faye Evelyn Rogers; brother, John Rogers, Jr.; first wife, Dorothy Rogers and their infant daughter; granddaughter, Amanda Blake Nelson and grandson, Ryan Norton. Survived by his wife of 15 years, Barbara Rogers; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Randall Nelson; grandson, Tanner Nelson; also known as as “StepBuddy” to Connie Norton (Randy), Sandra Harvey, and Amy Faulkner Turner (Don); grandchildren: Megan Jones, Jessica House, Gus Faulkner, Drew Norton, Chris Smith; great-grandson, Kaden Norton; special friends, Eddie and Dola Craig; special niece, Sheila Meltabarger (Richard); nephew, Roy Lindsay, Jr. (Brenda). The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 5th at Calvary Baptist Church in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Jody McGaha officiating. Calvary’s Mens Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for 12 noon graveside services.
