Obituary for Elizabeth Hardin Holland

Sudie “Elizabeth” Hardin Holland, age 90, of Lenoir City passed away Saturday morning, March 24th, at River Oaks Memory Unit in Lenoir City. Elizabeth taught Home Economics in Vonore, Summertown, and many years at Lenoir City High School. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Lenoir City where she led many prayer groups and taught the New Members class for many years. She loved her church and church family. Her favorite hobby was quilting. Elizabeth loved C.W.’s family like they were her own. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. W. Holland, Jr.; parents, George R. Hardin and Golda Hardin Hoskins Stafford; infant brother, George Russell Hardin; brother, Jack Hardin. Survived by her children: Richard Holland and wife, Phyllis, Sarah Shaver and husband, Van all of Lenoir City, TN and Lee Anne Spires and husband, Preston of El Dorado, AR; grandchildren, Austin Shaver and wife, Brittany of Hendersonville, TN, Evan Shaver of Chattanooga, TN and Amaris Hawkins and husband, Curtis of Moline, KS, step grandson, George McDougall; great-grandchildren Caleb, Abby, Ethan, Luke Shaver and Aralynn Hawkins; sister, Margie Sartin and husband, Jackie; sister-in-law, Beverly Hardin; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Mildred Buffalo, Harley Holland (Geneva) and Mary Nell Holland and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thank you to the staff of River Oaks Memory Unit for the special care and love they showed Elizabeth. The family will receive friends at Click Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 27th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Dr. Charles Sullivan officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 10:30 Wednesday morning and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for 11 a.m. graveside services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund. Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street, Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements.
