Obituary for Harrison W. Leopard

Harrison W. Leopard, 83, born on December 8, 1934, in Walnut Creek, North Carolina, passed peacefully to meet his Lord and Savior on January 8, 2018, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Harrison served honorably and proudly in the United States Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. He had distinguished careers at the Y-12 National Security Complex and subsequently retired from Delta Airlines where he was a Quality Assurance Inspector for 28 years. Raised in Franklin, North Carolina Harrison enjoyed spending time at his family homestead throughout his life. He was happiest preserving the land and house there where he and his family and friends held annual family reunions. He moved to Oak Ridge, Tennessee in 1995 to be closer to family and friends and enjoyed raising crops of blueberries in his backyard and attending Faith Promise Church.

Harrison is preceded in death by his parents, Lambert Leopard and Allie Bryson, his first wife, Thelma Muriel Ferguson, and his wife of 32 years, Jacqueline Crawford. He was an affectionate and warmhearted brother to his seven siblings and is survived by his brother Frank Leopard and wife Phyllis, sister Marie Tilson and husband Wayne, sister Virginia Brendle, sister Eula Carnes and husband Charles, sister Edith Childers, sister Hilda Evitt and husband Harley, sister Nancy Picklesimer and husband Bobby.

Throughout his life, he was a caring, supportive and loving role model to the family of his wife, Jacqueline. He is survived by members of Jacqueline's family which include; her son, Douglas Rayfield, and his wife Vicki, sons Beau and Brian and granddaughters, Brooke and Katelyn and Jacqueline’s daughter Leigh Ann McCauley and her husband Roger, her daughter Amber Conlon and husband Rick and Leigh Ann's son Justin McGonigal.

Family and friends will meet at Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City, TN on Thursday, January 11, 2018, from 1:00-1: 45 PM for a memorial service. A graveside service will follow at the Woodlawn Baptist Church Cemetery, Lenoir, City, Tennessee with military honors conferred by the Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard. Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street, Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements.
