Obituary for Isaac Frank Cox, Jr.

Isaac Frank Cox, Jr. age 92 of Lenoir City passed away peacefully Thursday, January 11, 2018 at his home. He was a Charter member and Deacon of First Presbyterian Church Lenoir City. Isaac was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army 739th Field Artillery Battalion. He entered France at Omaha Beach and served with General Patton’s Third Army across France and Germany. Isaac was a retired master electrician working with Martin Marietta Y-2 Plant for 37 years. A member of the IBEW Local in Knoxville for over 65 years where he helped build TVA Dams. Isaac was a member of Avery Masonic Lodge F & AM for over 60 years. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and a Christian man. Preceded in death by his wife, Rella Conner Cox parents, Isaac F. Cox, Sr. and Mary Lee Thompson Cox, and granddaughter, Allison Davis. Isaac is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James “Sonny” and Becky Cox of Lenoir City; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Hal Davis of Seymour; grandchildren: Mary Clark, Melissa Cooper (Ricky), Travis, Jake and Emily Cox; great-grandchildren, Gavin Clark and Hudson Cooper all of Lenoir City; brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Betty Cox of Parrish, FL; sisters-in-law, Johnnie Lee of Jacksonville, FL and Nancy Messinger of Bluffton, SC; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 15th at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Ed Umbach officiating. Masonic services will be conducted by Avery Masonic Lodge. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 10:30 on Tuesday morning and proceed to Lenoir City Cemetery for graveside services at 11 a.m. Military honors will be conferred by the Loudon Co. Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church Lenoir City. Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street in Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements.
