Obituary for Joy F. Newton

Joy F Newton, age 75, of Tellico Village passed on October 29, 2017 after an eighteen month struggle with melanoma. Joy was a two year U.S. Army veteran and also an army wife for 30 years who traveled the world with her husband and family. She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents Acie and Edna Marksberry of Milford, Ohio. She leaves her husband of 55 years, Tony, her sons Mike, a businessman from Baltimore, Md., Greg, a retired US Army master sergeant living in Carlisle, PA. and her daughter, Sue, a nurse living in Knoxville. She was very proud of her 10 grandchildren: Jamie, Rebecca, Acie, Annie, Taylor, Zack, Derrick, Lauren and Tyson. She also had 5 beautiful great grandchildren; Della, Scarlett, Ashur, Beckett, and Olivia. Joy lived in Tellico Village for over 4 years and found good friends that gave her great comfort and friendship.

Joy personified her name. She loved to cook, bake, garden and she loved her dogs. Mostly she loved her family; she loved being married to the man she married. Can you honestly find a single human being to ever think an ill thought of her, she was a wonderful person. She will be missed, but she will always be loved, as we know she will always love us.

The family will receive Joy’s friends at her home, 117 Tigitsi Trace, Tellico Village Sunday, November 5, from 1 to 3 PM.

If you wish to honor her memory, please consider a donation to the Tellico Village Volunteer Fire and Rescue, 210 Chota Rd., Loudon, TN 37774. We are indebted to the Rescue squad as well as the UT Cancer Center, their doctors and support staff. They did everything they could do.
