Obituary for Katherine Louise Johnson

Katherine Louise Turner Johnson aged 92 of Lenoir City Tennessee passed away on Tuesday December 26 after a protracted illness. The daughter of a construction superintendent, Mrs. Johnson moved frequently throughout her childhood attending thirteen schools before being graduated from Knoxville High School. She met Robert Earl Johnson in 1947 after his return from service in Europe during WWII and they were married in 1950. The couple was married fifty years before Mr. Johnson’s passing in 2000. Mrs. Johnson is survived by sons James and Kyle and daughter Lou Anne Bridges and her husband David, grandchildren Lee Ann Bridges and Melissa Headrick and great grandchildren, Alex Bridges, Ava and Ally Headrick.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church of Knoxville before moving to Lenoir City where she was a member of Central United Methodist Church until her death. Mrs. Johnson worked throughout her life as a bookkeeper and office manager as well as a pharmacy assistant. She loved butterflies and the color red as was evidenced by how her home was decorated. Known as Kitty Lou to friends and family she had an outgoing personality and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. A celebration of life for Mrs. Johnson will be held at Central United Methodist Church, 301 Hickory Creek Road Lenoir City, TN 37771, on December 29th, at 6:00 pm. A grave side service for family members will be held prior. The family requests that In lieu of flowers donations be made to Central United Methodist Church.
