Obituary for Susan Herndon McNish

Susan Kay Herndon McNish on Thursday, September 14, 2017 stepped off of this planet and entered the holy sanctuary of God’s eternal home. Susan grew up in the Ford Road area of Lenoir City. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother and grandmother. Susan had a lifelong love of collecting and displaying antiques and various handmade crafts. She had a barn full of antiques, displays and loved decorating her home for all holidays. She also loved her Beth Moore Bible Classes. Susan accepted Christ into her heart at an early age. She became the church pianist at White Wing Church of the Nazarene when she was in the 5th grade. Later she served as pianist at Silver Ridge Baptist Church for several years. Susan worked at First National Bank for 14 years and retired from LCUB with 24 years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Junior and Elsie Herndon. Susan is survived by her husband of 46 years, Glenn McNish, Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn (Buzz) McNish, Jr. and Erin; the brightest light in her life, grandson, Manny McNish; brother, Greg Herndon and wife, Roseann of Bradenton, FL; uncles and aunt, Goble Herndon of Calhoun, GA, Otis Bishop of Gate City, VA, Jimmy and Lois Russell of Knoxville and numerous cousins. She is also survived by her special “sister” and travel companion, Sona Moore; close family friends and craft buddies, Connie and David Hair. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 17th at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Bo Selvage officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Lenoir City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lenoir City Animal Shelter in Susan’s memory. Click Funeral Home, 109 Walnut Street, Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements.
