Obituary for Mari-Anne T. Kimball

Mari-Anne T. Kimball of the Tellico Village Community Loudon, Tennessee passed away September 28, 2018.

Anne was born on October 1, 1930 to Dr. Henry Pierce Talbot and Mary LaVerne Tatum Talbot in Hartford, Connecticut. She was graduated from Hall High School in West Hartford and began college at Mary Washington (University of Virginia) at age 16, receiving her B. A. degree from the University of Connecticut where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. Post graduate work was continued in Virginia, Massachusetts and Minnesota where she was active in remedial reading programs for undeserved teens, the American Association of University Women, The Mendelssohn Choral Society; the Caring Ministry, handbell and solo ringing and president of Chapter V of P.E.O. (A philanthropic educational organization for women) were her interests in Minnesota and Rockford, Illinois. Anne retired from the Department of Human Resources at I.U.P.U.I. area Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana and moved to Tellico Village where she was active in P.E.O. Chapter AX; the Art Guild; Stephen Ministry handbells and Chancel Choir at the Community Church; tennis and pickleball.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Henry T. Talbot, Jr.; new-born daughter, Mary Helen Waters; first husband James H. Waters; sister, Phyllis T. Fairbairn. She is survived by her beloved husband, Donald R. Kimball; five children James Randall Waters (Holly), Richard Darcy Waters (Teresa), Sharon-Lee Waters Santos (John), David Glenn Waters (Kristi), step son, Douglas R. Kimball; 12 grandchildren Christopher (Marnie), Brittany, Richard (Sarah), Jacob, Jenna, Jessie, Jon, Lesley, Kelsey, Megan, Hilana, Jessica and 7 great grandchildren: Christopher, Matthew, Elizabeth, Jemma, Ian, Harper and Nolan plus a special niece Linda.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at The Community Church at Tellico Village. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery in Lenoir City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community Church at Tellico Village or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
