Obituary for Norma Jean Bryant Henry

Norma Jean Bryant Henry, age 88 of Lenoir City, TN, passed peacefully from this life on October 20, 2018. Norma was born on May 5, 1930 to her parents, Aubrey and Edith Bryant. She graduated from Newport High School and was proud to be the first secretary to the principal there.

Norma married Arthur Henry on July 21, 1951. They moved to Kirksville, MO, where Arthur was stationed in the Air Force and Norma worked at the local Buick dealership. They returned to TN as Arthur left the service and began their family. Norma was a supportive office manager in Arthur’s businesses over many years. They were indeed a team. Norma enjoyed gardening and definitely had a green thumb. She was a long-time member of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection and was a member of the choir. She was very active politically in the Republican Woman’s Association. The Henrys’ time spent with family and friends was treasured. They enjoyed traveling and especially their vacation homes in Florida.

Norma is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Henry; parents, Aubrey and Edith Bryant; her in-laws, J.W. and Hattie Henry; her brother Greer Bryant and sister Valeda Cureton.

She is survived by her daughter Gay and her husband Bill; son Wayne and his wife Elizabeth; her daughter Pam; her loving grandchildren Russ and his wife Brooke; Liz Lyons; her cherished great-grandchildren Elise and Tripp Rymer.

The family would like to thank her caregiver-family at The Lantern at Morning Pointe, Lenoir City for their devoted, loving care and to the 3rd floor staff at Beverly Park Place, Knoxville, for their support and compassion.

The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 7:30 pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City, TN. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Church of the Resurrection at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of the Resurrection Memorial Garden Fund, 917 Pond Rd., Loudon, TN, 37774. Click Funeral Home , 109 Walnut Street is in charge of arrangements.
