Obituary for Emily Rose Stephenson

Emily Rose Stephenson of Lenoir City passed away on May 18, 2018. Emily Rose was one of the oldest living descendants of General William Lenoir. She helped form the Lenoir City Historical Society and The Lenoir Museum. Emily Rose was a member of the D. A. R. She attended Lenoir City High School, Martha Washington College in Virginia and graduated from East Tennessee State University with a degree in education. Emily Rose was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church and also a member of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Stephenson; son, James Stephenson; grandson, James Stephenson; father, James Bailey and mother, Ann Avery Norwood Bailey. Survived by her granddaughter, Emily Kurcan Stephenson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betsy and Henry Hope; Margie and Steve McFall; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to Summitt View of Farragut and Smoky Mountain Hospice for their loving care of Miss Emily. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, June 3rd at 2 p.m. at The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection in Loudon, TN. A reception will follow. Family and friends are invited.
