Obituary for Kenneth Dutton

Kenneth Dutton of Lenoir City, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018. Kenneth was born July 19, 1928 in Cave Creek, TN. He was a graduate of Lenoir City High School and attended Tennessee Wesleyan University and the University of Tennessee. Kenneth began his career in education as principal and teacher in the Loudon County School Systems and later served in the United States Army. For thirty seven years, Kenneth served as Manager of the Lenoir City Utilities Board. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lenoir City for 72 years and also served as Sunday School teacher. He was the oldest member of the Lenoir City Civitan Club, served several years as Board Member for the Bank of Loudon County and most recently served on the board for Tellico Area Service System.

Kenneth was preceded in death by father, Rufus Clellan Dutton; mother, Ada Cook Dutton; sister, Willie (Chas) Bruner; sister, Rassie (Glen) Condrey; father-in-law, John Hawkins; mother-in-law, Arlene Hawkins; brother-in-law, Gene Hamby; brother-in-law, Phil Hawkins and niece, Rhonda Bruner. He is survived by his wife, Kay Hawkins Dutton; daughter, Sherilu Rowan (Duke); grandson, Tim Rowan (Kristie); granddaughter, Stephanie Rowan-Waller (Brad); great-grandchildren Macon and Emma Rowan and Brody Waller; sisters Bobbie Hamby and Nancy Covington; and special friend, Cissy Coleman; along with several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to the skilled care and support of the staff at Concordia Nursing and Rehabilitation.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of
Lenoir City, St. Jude, Shriners Hospital for Children or the Pat Summit Foundation.

The family will receive friends from 4:30-7 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Family and friends will gather at Click Funeral Home in the Lenoir City at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and proceed to Lakeview Cemetery for 11 a.m. graveside services and interment. Full military honors will be conferred by the Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers will be: Gary Hamby, Steve Condrey, David Condrey, Ray Reno, Greg Reno and Doug Moats.
